Default Aviation Models 33% Yak from Chief Aircraft

Has anyone ever dealt with them? I can't figure out what kind of hardware it comes with and do you think it could handle a 3W 100?

I dont think you want to stuff a 3w 100 on one, its not that its too much power, its too much weight IMO. I had one with a 3w 80 and it was about right, even better would be the zdz super 80.

yea, I was thinking the same, but man, the power to weight would be awesome! plus its alot cheaper then the 35%, plus the 35% weighs in at 30 freakin pounds, I gotta have more power then that.

Trust me, with the super 80 it will have a ton of power. Anyone who was present at the DOD fly-in this weekend could attest how the super 80 pulled a 24lb AW 75cc yak (less fuel).

I've got a 3W 80 single in mine. Great power to weight with it. I really wouldn't see the need for a 100cc.

cloudshaker, is that the 35% in your avatar? Or can you get the 33% in the same scheme?

I could go with the 35% flame scheme for 699, but it weighs 30 pounds

Break, if you get one of the later kits, 28lbs is achievable and a bit less with some carbon items. There was one at the DOD fly-in this weekend (35%) with a 3w 106, stock mufflers, simple setup inside, and it was 28lbs. I think 27.5 is achievable with the aviation models carbon gear (not graphtech), tube, tailwheel and KISS no powerbox and un-needed stuff inside.

Yes it is the 35% in my avatar, I have the 3W 106 in it. I have the 33% in the orange and checker scheme. Either way you go, both are awesome flying planes.

Yeah Adam, the 100 is way to much for the 33%. If you want a yak, go with the 35%. It would be a great 3d and backup airplane.

If I could keep it under 30, it should be pretty good power to weight, 28 would be awesome. But the specs for my cap is between 29 and 32 pounds, and w\ all the repairs i've done it's prolly around 31 32 pounds or more and it hauls it around decently but its definintly no rocket.

Last weekend I had the front bearing slide out and it was sliding loosely up and down the crank shaft, it was in the air and it sounded like my prop was cavatating but I was just flying level, turns out when all this happened it bent the crankshaft enough to where i need a new one, anyone know how much a new crankshaft is for the old style 100? I heard its gonna be alot...

I figured the 33% w\ a 100 is long shot, but thats out of the question now, now I got my mind set on the 35% w\ flames (badass)!!!
