I finally had the chance to maiden my Extra 260 today. It was all the way up to 45 degrees here today with a slight breeze. I am flying it with a Saito 2.20, and it pulls it around with ease.
This thing flies like it is on rails. It is my first "large scale" plane. The closest thing I have owned before is an Edge 540 - .90 size. I only got two flights in before it got dark, but I love it. Here is what is on it. I should be able to get 20+ minutes of flight time with the stock tank.Weight came in at 12lbs 13oz. I like that weight. By my calculations, that is a 25.9 oz/sq ft, or 9.23 oz/cu ft H-9 Extra 260 Saito 2.20 Hitec 5645 for rudder Hitec 5625 for the rest Pcm receiver 9C transmitter MLP aluminum servo arms 2000mAh Nimh battery I can't wait to fly some more. Here in SD, I have to wait for the weekends for enough light, and then hope for some calm weather. Last edited by ericb; 11-12-2006 at 08:47 PM. |

Thanks, I know it will be a blast to fly. This maiden was the least nerve racking of all for some reason. I just added 4 clicks of down and 2 clicks of left.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how much the extra weighs with no electronics or motor?
Congrats on the extra. I love flying mine. |

I am using the mount that came with the plane. I have the battery on top of the fuel tank right now for balance. I will be moving it back a little bit soon though. It drops the nose while inverted a little more than I like.

I can't spell today. I built a platform for the stock tank and placed it over the CG. This seems to help bring weight further back and does not shift as the tank emptys. ..
