Tony,
FWIW, Extreme Flights hatch is the same. One piece plastic.

If you bought the Ultra Yak have fun with it.
Lets keep this thread about that plane. Nobody wants to read what we have all read over the last two years about who stole what and who designed this or that.

Go fly!

how about we just forget about this Yak being a copy of the EF Yak and all of that, I know for fact that if EF comes out with another Yak any time soon, I will be one of the first people to jump all over it. I was not lucky enough to have the real EF yak when they first came out (I started this hobby a bit over 6 months ago, and by the time I moved from glow to gasoline EF yaks were gone). We also all know that EF planes ROCK.

Anyway, this yak is pretty darn good too, here is a vid of me hovering her a bit.

OK, I will be the sour puss.... In the nicest way I know how, can "we" not mention EF again in this thread. It is an Ultra RC Yak, nothing more, nothing less... For the newer folks, it is a never ending story that ends in tears, ALWAYS. Even if this "is" an EF, lets just call it the Ultra anyways... I really like Chris and his products and just want to make sure there is no confusion. EF has a whole new airplane(s), they will not be redoing this that I know of... thanks for letting me 'splain my thoughts.

Trust I am not one to be a baby and get my feelings hurt . I am anxious to hear about the plane in the air. If it fly as light as the giles ul that will be awsome.

Really thought not every yak is the EF yak, that’s why it’s a scale plane

Oh, the plane looks good.
In our little R/C aerobatic world, a true-to-scale Yak would fly like crap! The EF Yak was pretty far deviated from scale, as is the QQ Yak, to achieve better flight performance. So, while it does represent a Yak 54, it is not "scale". I had the EF Yak and, from the pics that I have seen of the Ultra Yak, it is a spittin' image of the EF. Also, since Ultra will be offering replacement parts for the few EF owners (I read that somewhere from an Ultra R/C rep) and since it comes from the same manufacturer as EF, it stands to reason that it is the same plane with a different color scheme. I am also not trying to get into a design-stealing debate, here, either. I am just happy this design is back, in true form, so others can experience all the hype! I'd have a 100cc version if my wallet went that deep!
OOPS! I didn't read page 3 before typing this...
Rockoflyer, you should consider starting a build thread on a new topic if you do choose to doa a build thread, IMO.

Bodywerks is right about the plane. This isnt about any bashing, and why does everyone have to take it there? There is good news to this especially for those who missed out on the EF Yaks!
This plane is the same as the EF, with only a few differences as far as beefier motor box, and some other subtle things.
AWESOME....for those EF owners ( I have an 87" ) that is really good news as if you need a new canopy or something, now is your chance! I almost sold mine because if something were to happen, I couldnt get a replacement part....Until now.....
This is just info. to help all those who are interested in a quality plane, and maybe a few who still have their EF Yaks, but are in need of parts to fly them again....PERIOD.

What’s with people bitching about whether or not it is a copy of the extreme flight yak? I sure don’t care if someone thinks it is, it sure as hell looks like an exact copy to me. I am glad a bunch of people called it a copy, now I know that it probably is sooooo guess what, if I ever need a new yak it will be this one, because if its a copy it will be the best.

I will buy the best plane, who cares if its copied or not, someone is going to buy it and it might as well be me.

people complaining about others calling it a copy are just silly.
