It was perfect for 3D, useless for precision. I would still use the DA, though - you just have to be careful about where you put your equipment. And, obviously, if you like using those heavy pitts-style mufflers instead of stock, then you just put another half-pound up in the nose and the CG issue is gone...

How about $50 off the 87"??? This is a limited 4 day sale that runs through Sunday midnight.... I have mine and they are beautiful... They are indeed the EF deisngs re-released by the factory and made available through Ultra RC. Ho need to debate it or worry about it... both companies are moving forward and there's no issue here unless someone without reason makes one of it. The changes that were made were that the hinges are now flat-pinned, there are hardwood blocks installed for the canopy screws (was a pain in the original EF release) and the engine box top is preinstalled and slightly changed... Otherwise Ultra RC is selling parts for those needing replacements for the original EF version. |

Can anyone tell me if the G62 from BCMA would be a good motor for this plane? It is a lightend G62 and is only 425.00. I'm thinking of buying the yak but don't have the dough to fork out for a DA 50.

If it is under 4.5 pounds with ignition, muffler, and standoffs then it would probably be fine.

well after a lot of digging around therse threads and help from other guy's,i decided to go with a brillelli 366GT (60cc) it weighs a couple of ozs. more than a DA50 RTFW with at lease a 1000 more rpm's,it still should come in rite a 16lbs.and at 1450 wing area i don't think i am that good of a pilot to fill the differance. could someone tell me what is the best glue to use on these flat style hinges, all i have ever use before were robart pin style and used carpenter's wood glue on them.
ENJOY! _____________________________________ this plane looks like it flies so lite just can't wait for instuctions already start mine. |

sorry I can't help you with the glue question, but don't forget to get back to us with some RPM numbers and flight report, I have been eyeing this 60cc since it came out but till now I just have not made the move yet.

Closetguy, I have had great luck with Gorilla glue with the flat hinges but you do have to be very careful about how much it expands. I know Pacer Hinge glue is also supposed to be very good, but I haven't had any experiance with that.

thanks for the info guy's,i will be glad to let the rest of you know on the engine and flight report if there is one.i started to put the ailerons on the wings and guess what the slots in wings and ailerons didn't even come close to matching.i was going to use these flat hinges for the first time instead of the robart pin like i always do but some of the pins that hold the two haves together are missing in the flat hinges i am going to put the wings on the fuse and mount the horz. stab and see if they are on the same plane with each other then decide what i am going to do i mite send the plane back.but i realy wanted one of these!
ENJOY! MY FRIENDS |
