I used the Pacer (or ZAP) Hinge glue and it works great and easyer to clean than epoxy.

Hey guys,

Would a Brison 3.2 be a good choice for the yak? I'm looking for strong 3d performance. I actually had a 3.2 about four years ago but only had it for about a month on a heavy airframe. Needless to say, I sold it so I really don't know much about it other than it ran reliably. I'm trying to stay well under 500.00 for a motor for this plane. How can I tell if it is a newer one or an older one. I have my eye on one with a blue case. Thanks

I think that a few guys were running that engine on the EF Yak and said the performance was great..maybe check out the thread on RCU, I think thats where I read it...I know quite a few guys that are running that 3.2 on some WH planes which are a little heavier and they have no complaints..

I have a Brison 3.2 and have had it for about a year now, I am running it on Amsoil Saber Professional with the recommended mix by Brison. This engine has a ton of power and I have never had a dead stick landing with it, the engine is silky smooth and flys my 28% Cap straight up at 1/2 throttle. I think Brison engines are one of the best engines out there, just my opinon I think it would be a great engine for the Yak.

Hey guys I need help,

I'm curious as to where you guys are putting your ignition box. I can't seem to find a safe place to put it and keep it away from the throttle servo. I do not want interference and would like to be at least 6 inches from the servo. Any pictures would help. I have mounted a BME 50 on mine. I mounted almost a half an inch foward from the recommended measurements so I can put my reveiver battery by the wing tube so I hope I don't have any cg issues. Thanks

my throttle servo is mounted on the bottom of firewall box and the ignition box is on top of firewall box and ignition battery is on the side of box, with no interference,i get over 40 paces with this set up before it goes into failsafe. just put all of your stuff where you need to have them and do a good range check, and go from there if you have to move things around,i have had in the past also to put the rx battery on the engine box with everything that i have mention here and no problems.
ENJOY!

My ignition module is on the left side of the motor box. It is on the outside so it is out of the way of everything. I have the smoke pump ontop of the motor box.

I forgot about this thread, I have flown the plane and it is very good. Very light in the air, the color scheme shows up great. It came in at 16lb 7 oz with a KS 1060 pipe and tme smoke system. I put the smoke system in because I was too tail heavy, now it is balanced neutral while inverted.

With the new balance point the wing is steady in harriers, wall and parachutes.

Oh and I am running a Vess 23B prop, I really like this prop/plane/exhaust combo, but Xoar 23-8 is better.

I had a chance to do some mixing in the plane today. Here is where I am with the plane.
1/32 shim of upthrust, Awesome handsoff vertical upline
1 degree down elevator mixed with throttle off throttle. Downline is now awesome.
Rud>Elevator L 5% R 4%
Rud>Aileron L 1% R ail. R none
CG is nuetral for inverted flight.

Here is the equipment in it
Dave Brown spinner (I had it) good for balance
2 1500 lipos on rx
1 1200 lipo on ignition
smart-fly ignition regulator, standard regulator and Optical Ignition Kill.
Small H9 fuel dot
SWB servo arms, JR full arm on the pull pull
JR 8611A, 2 8411, 2 futaba 9451, 1 3004
Vess 23B prop (1 oz heavier then the Xaor)
I just pulled all of the equipment out of my KMP/ebay Yak

I installed a sullivan Skywriter smoke pump.

With a pitts muffler and no smoke I would have been under 15.5 lbs with this plane.
