Bodywerks,
The 19-20 pounds was using a bathroom scale, weighed myself before and then again holding the plane. I have an accurate digital scale, I just need to rig something to hang the plane from it. I'll do that after I get the engine in and finish the build. Greg |

Was wondering about the Pacer Hinge glue i checked with my lhs and he said its nothing more than elmers wood glue . I thought it was a darker color than wood glue . I was wondering what supplier sells the pacer products. I would like to try some on my flat hinges on my AM SD Yak.

Pacer Hinge glue is nothing like elmers, it works very well I have found. I used it for the first time on my AM 30% Yak and I will use it again on my next plane. I like it better than epoxy. You can usually get it at a local hobby store or if not I know that Tower Hobbies has it. Just my 2 cents

Greg,
This can be a problem but it has an easy fix. Plug in your CF tube in the fuse and mark the middle part that goes into the sleeve. Then put a plastic bag on your hand like a glove and lay some CA around the area of the tube that goes in the sleeve. Repeat this until you have a sung fit wingtube in the sleeve. You don't want any extra movement around that area. Hope this helps. [quote=GSM026;153613]Wayne and all, 7. Carbon wing and stab tube are a looser fit in the fuse than I am used to. Don't know if this is really a problem or not, haven't done anything about it yet. I would appreciate some feedback on this. |

Reza,
Thanks for the tip. Ultra told me that their prototype exhibited some of the same looseness, and it has not been a problem over a lot of flights on 3 different engines. They also gave me essentially the same method using thin CA in case I wanted to fix it. I did not want to get into the CA thing unless it is really a problem, but from your post I gather the answer to that is yes. Thanks, Greg |

Greg,
When your tube is allowed to move up and down, most of the shear forces will be applied to the Anti-rotation pins or the bolts that hold the wings. Eventually they can give up or loosen up allowing your wings to have slight movements which will result in good cases to change of trim in flight or in worse case they give up and loosing the plane. I would do it on my plane just to be safe. Depending on the type of flying you do, sooner or later it can cause you problems. It's easy to fix it! I hope this helps. |

107" ready to maiden if we ever get good weather. Maybe a shot at it this weekend, they are saying 35F +.
All up dry weight is 26.25 lbs on my digital fish scale. That includes dual receiver set up, cowl baffling and wheel pants, Xoar wood prop. Cg is just about dead center on the range. Greg |

Dgeorge,
Flyinrazrback is right, it's a BME 115. Should yank around 26 pounds okay even at 5000 ft. Weather forecast is looking like snow again this weekend so it may be a while. Greg |

Maidened my 107" Yak today. Required one click of down and two of left aileron. Seems to be a nice flier with no bad habits found yet. Seems like it will be a good slow flier. Easy to land, gentile stalls. I did add an extra battery pack up front to get the Cg where I wanted it for the first flight. I'll remove the extra weight once I get a couple more flights on it.
Engine still not running quite right, so I only did two flights and some relatively simple aerobatics. Anyone else flying this plane yet? Thanks, Greg |

I am thinking about buying the 87 inch version of this plane. I'm not into 3d or heavy aerobatics yet. Can this plane handle mostly just flying around until I get better at aerobatics or is this plane more for just slow 3d stuff? If so I might change and go with another extra or an edge.
