JBenson very nice picks.....you're playing with my brain bro !!!!

Hector thanks for the info on trimming but the link doesn't seem to work for me but I absolutely agree with you that the key to a good flying plane is a good trimmed one !!

I would not even consider a Cap. Worst knife edge coupling of any aircraft and Ail Diff is required because of the bottom wing design. There is a reason that people moved on from the Caps. I have flown a bunch of them and neved liked any of them. I would choose a Yak or Extra design over the cap any day.
Garrett
p.s. I guess I would take a cap over a giles.

That's not a very fair assessment. If AM sold a Cap your opinion might change, though. My H9 Cap needed 5% rudder to elevator mix one way and 6% the other for rock solid KE from one end of the field to the other.. No roll coupling at all. The coupling was minimal enough to fly through it but now it's totally 'hands off'. I've flown Extras that have had MUCH worse KE coupling - both pitch and roll. Aileron diff. is easy enough to setup and I can name several Extras that need that as well.

FWIW, My Carden Cap has zero coupling at all with an IMAC/precision CG. Set up for 3D, the mixing is maybe 2-3%, IIRC

My $.02

I agree with Garrett!!!

I have a A.M Yak the 30% size and that's a lot of fun to fly him!

Bear in mind that there is much difference between different makes and models.

I have the H9 cap and would reccomend it to anyone. It has extremely minimal coupling in KE, 3D's great, and draws great lines.

Best of all worlds.

There used to be a whole lot a of video available on the Hanger 9 Cap when there was a web site called The Flying Cirkus. And if memory serves me right the guy flying would do the slowest knife edge passes I ever saw.
I also had the AM or whatever Yak and only made it thru or should I say to the maiden.Very sad day.

I do not think that you can go wrong either way.

Well guys the decision was yours to make ( I should have put a poll out ) and its been made ....I count 10 in favor of the Cap vs 7 in favor of the Yak so the CAP IT IS.

Just got off the phone with a very nice gentleman and it should be on its way soon....well its going to travel quite a bit but all the same its on its way.

I do appreciate all your inputs and help and for the guys who voted the yak....well I'm probably going to put an order for that too before they run out from Chief aircraft and I will then go get treated before my wife kills me......

That makes the Wild Hare Sukhoi (pre order ) ,Cap 232 , AM Yak 33% and a KMP YAk 50cc all in boxes......Don't you just hate this hobby.

By the way the only way I get away with it is that both my boys 11 and 9 fly with me all the time ....so when my wife says anything I tell her "its for me and the kids dear....got to grow the hobby on them " Me and the kids have a blast and fly when ever we get a chance.

Once again thanks for your input FG crew !!

Thats about as far off as you could be on my assessment. AM could do a Cap in about 2 mins if they wanted to. The thing about caps is the more rudder you give them the mixing usually gets worse. I have flown the H9 cap as well as the Carden an both would pitch more than usual.
If you go through and read my posts you will find that I dont just push AM products. I push what I believe is good and a lot of AM planes fall in that bracket.

Surprise ...surprise the one I'm buying is a new in the box from the States

I'm not sure what I'm going to use for power but was thinking of the ZDZ super 80 for the cap and the BME 115 for the wild hare Sukhoi .
