Well the wife crashed my Seba Katana S30E, now I have the Hacker A30-14L and X40 controller with no plane to put it in. It had no power for the Katana (It was recommended in the Katana manual) so I won't waste my money on another one of them. What would be a good plane for this motor combination? I have a 3S 11.1v lipo for power.

That motor should have had plenty of power to pull around that plane with the right prop and battery. What size prop and battery are you running and how old is the battery (batteries) also what make of battery?

I was running both an APC 13 x 6.5e and a APC 14 x 7e, the battery is a brand new EVO 3S 11.1v 2150mah.

Hmmm... I guess we're going to need more info to sort this out. I've never seen the Sebart Katana except on their website. It states the AUW to be about 35oz.(1000g) and you should be able to get at least 450W out of that motor which would make the plane ballistic. So,... what was the AUW (All Up Weight, including the battery) and if you put a wattmeter on it, what were the readings (amp draw and watts). Unless the stated weight of the plane was way off on their website, say the plane comes in at 45 ozs instead of 35, then I think it could be a motor/controller issue or something as simple as setting the throttle end points on your transmitter. As I said, that motor should have been able to haul the Katana around with authority so any additional information will really help.

I would say the plane weighed about 35oz. Don't have it anymore so can't weigh it. Before the first flight one of the japanese guys put a watt meter on it, 28 amps is what he said it was getting with the 14 x 7 prop. That was with a thunder power 3S 11.1v 2100mah battery, never checked it with the EVO battery. The end points on my futaba 9Z for throttle are rate A 131 rate b 38. Thats my problem I think. Never thought of checking them, I reset all the parameters prior to programing for the katana. I guess I'll have to give the Katana another try once they get them back in stock here. Thanks for the info. What would be a good plane to get while waiting on the Katana for this motor combo?
