Default Hello from South Florida

Hey all, just wanted to say hello. I just found this site and really like what it has to offer. I fly mostly extra 330's, 260's and 300's all in the 30-40% scale. I had to find something to do on my days off and got hooked on this about 7 years ago. When I am not flying RC's, I am flying for a living. As to the name Longhorn, well....went to UT. Ok all, nice to meet the group. Have a good night and I am looking forward to getting involved here.

happy thanksgiving.

LH.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome. I am new to south florida and I am split in places to fly. I will go up to the port saint lucie field with a buddy of mine that flys up there once in a while but I am just as close to Markham park out near weston and plantation FL. Boulder, I wish I had a full hanger right now. I only have 2 planes that I am working on. Nothing flying for a few more weeks. Its the busy season at work and getting time off around the holidays for me is not easy so I only get my days off in blocks at a time. I am based in Boston and usually work 5 on 5 off, so when I am in town I am working on the planes. I have a smaller 27% hangar-9 extra 260 (which flys great) and an aero-works 35% extra 260 that have not started on because of not having enough time off. After Christmas, I am planning on buying either the Aeroworks 42% extra 260 or the cactus 3w 41% extra 300 so either one will keep me busy. I really like the people in port st lucie mostly because I know more people there but a couple other pilots from work fly jets out at markham and they are great guys but say its really crowded there. So, where do you all recommend flying? I think there is a field in west palm but I have not been out there yet.

There are 2 fields around you, the closest is in Dyer park, but with the larger gassers it may be too congested because the far side of the field is actually over the turnpike, the other is the field that I fly @ in Stuart, it is around 25 minutes closer than the sundancers field in PSL, check out the site WWW.TCRCAM.COM we have a 3000 foot paved strip.

little recomentdation.....steer clear of markham park! They are pretty crazy out there, alot of people dont follow the rules and its amazing that more people arent hurt. And if your into the giant gasser 3D scene, you would be by yourself for the most part. Theres not alot of big 3D'ers out there, just alot of people training, heli's, and jets on wed....if you have a buddy in pt st lucie I would say hit him up!

Welcome to the Giants man, I hope you enjoy the site...
Have fun
