Anybody using Kevlar for their pull-pull cables? Do they last? Do they stretch? Is braided steel better?

I've used both and prefer the steel cable. The kevlar however does not need guide tubes when crossed.

The Kevlar is tend to wrap when it touches the wood or worse the fiber
I prefer a good fishing steel coated cable 200lb is more then enough and cost less

Need to know what size plane, I have used 30 lb test, 6lb diameter braided fishing line (power pro or spiderwire) on small stuff but I have only used coated steel on bigger stuff. The fishing line is real easy to work with. you just tie a knot and hit it with some thin CA.

Kevlar will work. But I would strongly suggest using eyelets or some kind of rounded attachpoint for the kevlar to loop through at either end. Sullivan makes some nice 4-40 size eyelets that will work. Anothe rthing about kevlar it will stretch some what - I used on my first giant scale G202 and then switched it out for cable. I didn't like the stretch - more of a matter of preference really.

I like the Kevlar much better than the cables..I use the SWB pull-pull turnbuckles and it works really well.I get the kevlar from here..I have it on my WH 50cc Edge and EF 50cc Yak

Many thanks, guys. I will leave the Kevlar in the Yak and watch it carefully. Generally when the guys at TBM recommend something, I give it a try and these pull-pull cables were certainly easy to setup.

I have the kevlar cables on a 3 Meter comp arf 330 and I am using steel cable on my 40% Carden 330 and I prefer the steel cables. The kevlar works just fine, I have just had better luck with the steel.
