Default Futaba RX, Y-Harness, and Hitec Servos???

Quick question for you Futaba guys out there that have run Hitec servos. I just sold my Ultimate to a gentleman that flys Futaba (I flew the bird on a JR Rx). Each side of the airplane has a Y-Harness on the ailerons to link the top and bottom wings in synch. He said that when he turns the plane on, the bottom ailerons now jitter and dont stop. yet the top ailerons are fine. This would mean its coming from each channel (I am assuming a aileron/flap flaperon mix like I had) because its on each side. Has anyone ever heard of any problems with Hitec servos on a Y-Harness with a Futaba reciever/gear??? Any help would be appreciated as I am not familair with Futaba, and would like to be able to help this gentleman out. Thanks in advance.

Did he say if the ailerons are actually working? I can't imagine what it could be. I don't ever recall having that kind of problem with hitecs on Y-Harnesses w/ futaba gear.

IIRC this was an issue with a certain revision of Hitec Digi servos.... but I don't remember the details

Perhaps resetting them with a programmer will help... not sure. They worked fine for me, and the top ones are good for him, just the bottom wings. They were all purchased at the same time... hopefully we'll get this figured out.

Default Re: Futaba RX, Y-Harness, and Hitec Servos???

Hi guys,
I had the exact same problem setting up my aileron servo's using a Y-harness and apparently the problem lies with different software versions in the servo's. In my case, one wing would work normally while the other one never stopped jittering.
I tried every combination and eventually gave up and hooked everything up using a DPSI from Emcotec. Result a much neater setup and no more jitters...

Hope this helps...

Marc

Tank

The first version of the 5955 will not work with a Y harness and a Futaba system. I was told to send them back and Hitec will replace then with the new version that will work with the Y harness.

The problem is that Futaba uses a lower signal voltage than Hitec or JR. Usually this is not much of a problem unless you are putting multiple servos on a single channel. If it were my airplane I would throw a Power Expander sport in there and be done.
