The Hanger 9 Showtime 50 mysteriously appeared in the back seat of my truck, don't know how that happened...oh wait yeah, had a mental lapse at the LHS!
What a bad ass airframe! Airfoiled tail feathers and a substantial landing gear section, way to go Hanger 9! Couple of drops of CA to make sure and that portion of the ARF build is done. As soon as my DX-7 comes in I'll get this bird in the air. Can't wait Usual 6s2p CC80 setup will apply here. Nothing too dramatic about the conversion. Looks like a built in cooling hole under fuse, just needs to be cut out. Maybe add some additional frontal cooling holes in the firewall area. Looks like another winner!

Nope just this little guy. Are they making a Showtime 50cc? That would be impressive. A 87" version would be sweet with a DA50 or a large outrunner setup.
I better start saving the bucks now!

Tell me how it flys. I got the showtime 90 and love it. I was just reading something that my father showed me and IT was saying that someone put a 26cc gasser in one. They said that this thing is an animal. So I am thinking about doing that and getting a 50 size one to.

Here's some quick pics. AUW is about 6lbs 14oz.
Used 6s2p 4200mah and a 16 x 8 prop, getting about 1180 watts. Should fly Ok but would love to drop some weight though. Should be able to get some time off this week and maiden her. Will try to video soon.

Beautiful. I had the 90 and loved it. It flies great with and without the SFGs, and unfortunately, a lot better with them. I say unfortunately because they are so ugly, especially on such a gorgeous plane.

He is using the E-flight power 60.
FWIW, if one is interested in a plane this size for Artistic aerobatics/3D hybrid, and want to shed a good 10 ounces off the AUW while maintaining the same wing area, consider the Inspire 60. Mine weighs 6 pounds, 4.5 ounces with virtually the same powerplant as 3Deranged's, except I am using 6S1P maxamps 4000's.

I just use what's laying around the shop( parts/ motor wise). Later on I'll probably swap out motors for testing, but the airframe weight on the Showtime was around almost 4lbs I think. Not sure what the Inspire is dry but probably less. Should be able to do some flight tests soon. If you want to try something else, the Reactor(.70 sized) will be a good one to evaluate too. If it flies like my "Mini" Reactor it will probably be one of the better fliers in the crop of planes this year. Mine's supposed to be here tommorow and we'll see if it's lighter than the Showtime and Inspire. The specs claim a 16oz wing loading! Flat spins here we come....

Got 2 flights in today. Must say this one flies on tracks. Very smooth. A touch heavy but it really grooves. SFG's make a big difference too. I personally prefer them on, but try it if you don't like it, leave them off! Practically lands itself. Line it up and reduce power till wheels touch. Felt like a hands free landing on the last one. Had minor noise issue from cowl screws working loose and wallowing out holes. Some CA and rubber washers should cure that. Tried out DX-7, very quick response. Don't know whether it's the AR6000 vs. AR7000 or not but seemed like response was very quick. My DX-6 is great, but the DX-7 feels much better! More flight reports soon...
