Thanks! It's a long plane. It's about 2" longer then the VROLET. It took a lot of bracing to stiffen it up.

I'm going to the E-Fest for sure, just don't know if I'm going to fly or not. Depends if the hobby shop gets the Spectrum receivers in on time. They say the end of Jan. , but you never know.

CKoerner, nice job on those. I too have done some airbrushing on foamies but I use cheap postrboard and spray adhesive from Wal Mart for masking. Using depron has got to be expensive. Anyways, there is a thread on the pro bro site where some other Illinois boys have been doing some airbrushing and I posted some pictures below of their work. I wish I was on their level for airbrushing. The pictures below are by Gary Pierson of Oakland, IL.

I saw those on the ProBro site. I can't paint that good. Those are the work of artists.

I didn't think that. Hopefully I will make it to Effingham again this year.

I would really like to learn how to do the real fire stuff. That stuff is cool.

Those airbrush works by Gary Pierson are awesome! However, I prefer the ones by Ckoerner, simply because of the visibility. The use of dark and light contrasting colors makes the model more visible and helps to distinguish the attitude of the model from any angle. JMHO.

OK, I know nothing about airbrushes but I have a gravity feed gun that I use to paint cowls etc with automotive paint. Will this gun work with the acrylics? I don't know why it wouldn't but maybe someone does. I just don't want to buy an airbrush if I don't have to.

Yeah it will spray acrylics but for finer blending and masks you will overwhelmed with volume with the spray radius being too large.

Buy a single action airbrush (gravity fed is fine) . Hook it to a moisture trap and a household compressor set to around 12lbs pressure. Any finishing compressor 1-6 gallon 135psi compressor will work.

Here is a sample I did last year. All card stensils dropped down . No masking.
The air brush cost me $15.00 CAD. compare to a nice Paache or Aiwata worth a couple hundred . Once you become proficient you will be able to get the most from any tool . Flaming is an entirely different issue. You really do want a dual action that can give a really finely chisled spray pattern for highlighting and low lighting. But if you just want a basic clean scheme you will be able to knock out some pretty impressive foamies inexpensively.

By the way guys , those were some pretty nice looking foamies!!!

Tony, go to http://coastairbrush.com/proddetail.asp?prod=MIL%233L. This is the same airbrush I and Gary Pierson use. It is cheap and will do everything you will want to the point of you being a professional airbrusher. In fact, I see many good Tshirt airbrushers still use this very airbrush.

What paints is everyone using?

I cut out templates from coke/pepsi boxesto paint but I haven't been able to make my stuff as nice as above. Those are insanely nice!

I like my new yaks. I projected a three view onto a piece of foam, stretched the tail just a bit and made my own templates/foamy.
