Hey Zivbit, so whats so great about this cover job? wanna do my Cap? LOL seriously, awesome job. Let me ask a question, there has been a lot of talk about Monokote not being as good as it used to be, did you encounter any problems? I am about to cover my Carden 35% Cap and I'm not looking for any problems.

Once again, great job

Hi Frank,
No Problem man I can cover your Cap, only the shipping to here will cost you more than a new Comparf plane......
No problems with the Monokote - I love it.
I did not cover with oracover before and I hear its good suff, but it does not have the color variety or special shine of the monokote.

Good luck with your cap.

Paint job begins.
This is the metalic platinum layer - it is the first layer benaeth everything.
I use a good spray gun with 3 inlet diese (i think thats what they call it) and a 5 liter compressor .
The paint is Dupont auto paint matched to the monokote color by computer, did that at the motorcycle shop in my hometown.

Thanks,

Its been 2 dificult weeks at work so I did not get much progress.

I am just into painting now, quite time consuming.
Once I finish with paint, I will post pics of the process.

Cheers,

Hi Guys,

back to work now...
I have began to paint the layers on the fiberglass parts.
Here is how it is done on the cowl.
The color is metalic gold, matched to the monokote color.

3 layers to get the right color depth.

Checking the color match... OK
the white trim will make it more visible, same as in the monokote.

I did the canopy trim color in metalic blue - perfect color match.
This time the guy at the car paint shop did a good job on matching the colors...

Next is the spinner design.

Here is the wing servo instalations.
8611A's all around.
4-40 threaded rod with carbon tube over it - super pushrod!
heavy duty ball links and 8-32 swivel horns threaded into the hardpoint.
the geometry is good as it is - at full deflection (35deg.) the rod is perpendicular to the ailron.
