Call me ... , but I think that is a beautiful aircraft. I could see a problem when that leading edge submarines though... strange. You see the water ripping into that leading edge...?

It's pretty cool, but I think you would want the water to be EXTREMELY calm when landing or taking off.

Economy cruise is only 120kts, max cruise is 130kts. I think it's actually meant as a backcountry/bush type of plane. As is normal for the Russians, they've built it to be solid airplane. It's supposedly able to operate off of unimproved strips. It's got reversible props also, landing distance is only 800 feet.

i've actually stepped into this aircraft, and sat at the controls... a couple of years ago it was flown into the seaport at the Oshkosh flyin... it's a very impressive bird! As stated above, it's a rugged plane, not much of a speed demon...
