Default ny-rod or fiber optic Isolator Throttle Servo

Are any of you using a fiber optic isolator for you throttle servo?
Is a ny-rod and 12" - 14"of distance, enough to keep the devil away?
Is one better then the other? Is the fiber optic worth it? ( $40.00 )
1st gas plane, sorry about all the questions.

I wouldn't spend the money on it... just do a range check with the engine running on the ground.
I know everyone talks about a 12" rule with their equipment, but I have always had my throttle and choke servos about 2" away from my ignition and ign. battery and have yet to have a problem with any of them.

Ditto, with a 3 dub or DA engines. I cannot speak to the other brands.

Are you running Electronic, or Magneto igntion?

I am pretty sure that Magneto engines put out more EMF.

(i think)

I've heard the same as well.

All my personal experience is with DA ignitions, but buddies at my field mount their servos in their engine boxes as well with 3W and ZDZ ignitions.

I have a AW 36% Katana using a DA100 with choke and throttle servos ~4inch away from ignition with no problems.

I just put nylon clevises ( I think thats how it's spelled ) or ball links on the arm on the carberator and the servo arm and then solid wire if the servo is mounted close to the engine, or that braided throttle cable. I've never had a problem, the biggest thing is you dont want metal on metal contact with a metal pushrod. That will transfer any interference back to the servo, just keep them isolated with nylon or something like that and all should be good.
