Yes it probably is the ugliest 260 ever made.
Yes the cowl does not quite match. Yes you probably get what you pay for. Yes I did buy one. HahaCall it ebay inexperience, frugality, being overwhelmed with finals at the time whatever you like, I bought one. I have flown Giant scale gassers (and much larger too) but I have never owned one. I figure I can use this as a learning experience and get used to Gas engines, larger aircraft safety, transportation etc. Plus, its not so much stress flying something that is cheap. And hey...you know what they say about the longevity of UGLY airplanes... I'm outfitting it with really good equipment that will slide right into a better plane later. Whether that is after a year or a week, who knows! I've already put more into 3 servos than there is in the airframe. 9451's on elevators and 9155 on rudder. lol Fromecos and a DA 50 are on the agenda. The airframe is by far the cheapest component anyway..I just took it to the extreme. |

We difinitely need a build thread on this bird. Pics pics pics. If we are going to do it , lets do it right.
You know it's like looking at a train wreck. Hurts but just can't look away. Bet it would be the most looked at thread! |

I'll bite, just what is the landing gear made of ? Looks like a tube built up with something ? Composite with a tube molded in maybe ? Please tell me the area where the axles go in are not the other end of the tubes mashed flat ?

Man dont have a hard landing or your entire fuse will be ripped in half. That has to be the worst landing gear attachment I have ever seen. So much leverage on those pipes that go up into the fuse. Then they are held in with epoxy?

That's just what I thought. Either the fuse will rip or the gear will break after about 5 flights or less. Why re-invent the wheel??? A standard landing gear would have worked a hundred times better and been a lot easier to install.
