I personally think it looks ugly for the money.... pay the extra $$$ and get a H9 over this it looks poo....

Pls dont encourage these chinese monstrosity's, encourage them to produce cheaper kits that at least look good and if possible fly straight. If you buy them you are just encouraging them.

my 2c.....

I agree. I said it in other threads before and I'll probably say it again in a few more. You get what you pay for. I'm doing this hobby on a budget, but I still buy top end gear and just save up for a little longer to get something that's worth waiting for.

I think this type of models best application would be for someone wanting to try a little low level stuff or hovering and not have to worry too much if it hits the deck and breaks it's back. Other than that I think a bargain is not the price you get a kit/ARF for, it's the performance and fun you get from it.

I don't know - it actually looks like a pretty good idea. Assuming that the rod is strong enough, ripping the gear out would mean ripping the fuse apart. This seems to capitalize on the entire overall strength of the fuse to absorb the landing loads. I am sure this is a rough setup on this ARF, but I can see how it would be a very good idea if it were refined a bit...

Well, the H9 is twice the price, 7 inches shorter on wingspan, 300 inches shorter on wing area, and weighs more than this one. I'd pic this ugly POS in a heartbeat before I strapped a DA50 to a flying tank like the H9 260...but that's just MY 2 cents!
By the way, that H9 260 is a "chinese monstrosity", too, as is EVERY other arf out there, so it's a moot point.

Just think of it as a cheap, giant scale aerobatic/3D trainer!

The moments and numbers look pretty good, and the thing is quite light. Assuming the thing is structurally sound it should work well.

Edge 540, keep us updated on your progress.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays, everybody

On second thought, is the wing support structure tied into the fuse in any way? I there a wing tube carrier of some type, or any otehr structure? You might want to lengthen the engine box structure to tie the wing to the engine and landing gear. Otherwise the flight loads are all carried by the fuse sides and they probably aren't strong enough.

Good luck!

Ugh, I tried really hard to forget about this thread.
Basically, the plane was worthless. Ended up re-building the fuse wing section by laying up a fiberglass tube. Came out really nice if I do say so myself. This was installed and the inside of the fuse was reinforced with light ply. Then the rudder was rebuilt to fix a warp, the fuse sides were sheeted, and a hardpoint was built into the right aileron. (left one had it right one didn't)
Thought about unloading it on ebay but couldn't do it with a clean conscience. After all that work and tons of time invested by me and my friend it was setup RTF with a DA 50 and hitec digitals. I gave the plane to him because he did most of the work. First flight (he was flying) the left wing ripped off in a straight and level pass after about 3 minutes. Did a couple circuits Hempel style and landed. I've tried to forget about the whole experience and every penny of hard earned money I wasted. BUT NO! you had to bring it up again. Thanks guys, thanks a lot.
