Ok guys,
Here are a few pics of my new, to me, Extra , I think, 330L. I believe it is 33%, because the wingspan is 101.5" and a length, from rudder to front of the cowl, is 81". I think the 35% planes are 103" or 104" wingspans. Does anybody recognize the interior structure? I made a trade for this plane so the cost wasn't a lot. The plane's I traded for it weren't being flown any longer. The airframe weighs 15 lbs. as it sets, bare with no engine or electronics. It is obvious the structure has had some damage in the past, but was repaired pretty well. One more thing, I need a canopy for this plane, there is a couple of cracks and I just want to replace the whole thing. Any info on this plane will be appreciated, I have no way of knowing who's kit this is. |

Thanks Sleepy,
This is the first plane that I noticed the wings slip into the fuse. I need to make the slots fit better to the wing, shouldn't be a problem. If the interior structure looks similar, you are probably right. Every manufacturer has their own way of building the airframe. I hope you're right, I will try to download the build manual. Thanks again... |

That really looks like it... and if its not.. then its a copy.
From the shape of the wings, the FAT fuse, the cowel... It has to be it. Should be a SWEET IMAC type plane. unless you do the mods on the tail feathers.. it won't 3D well.. but I even making mine per instructions. I want a NICE flying plane.... You will dig it. What motor you throwing in there?

Yep,
I noticed the elevators aren't very large, and are only beveled to throw about 35*. Do your wings slide into pockets in the fuse? I've always thought the wing butted up against the fuse, in most planes. I like the design, it seems stronger. I need to find a way to tighten up the stabs also. There is a little rock in them. It seems that it might throw the plane a little off line in loops and such. I haven't decided on which motor. Either a DA-100 or maybe a ZDZ-80 single. I am at 15 lbs. now, and will probably add a couple of lbs. with the radio gear, batteries, switches and extensions. That puts me at around 17 lbs. minus engine, mufflers and ignition. What ever I chose, I think I want to keep the plane between 22 and 24 lbs. I already figured that IMAC was all this one was going to be good for, maybe a little playing around, some hovering, but that's about it. |

I had one last year, with a ZDZ 80 with a JMB can, came in 24lb 12 oz.
to tighten the stab add some scotch tape to the tube where it fits inside the fusg. Mine was the same way, Did fly good for IMAC. (sportsman) Don't try to get to slow on landing or she will drop a wing. Mike Mc. did do a little 3D with it, nothing radical tho. |

Thanks for all the responses,
I have a line on a ZDZ-80 with a can, I'll try to make a deal for the motor. I need to make him an offer, I'm sure we can work something out. Originally the DA-100 was my choice, but I can't spend that kind of money right now, maybe after I clean up a few of those pesky debts...

Did you ever find the extra canopy you needed? I have a extra used one, it was fitted & glued once but never flown, it is scratched up, but nothing that some work with a Micro Mesh Lexan Scratch repair kit can't fix.
