Default Gone to the Dark Side

A couple of months back I purchased a H9 40 size J3 Cub ARF. Toyed with the idea of going electric for a conversion. I have had so many things going on that I just finished it last week. Using an AXI 4120/14 with Jetti 77 Opti Plus speed control, 1 2cell and 1 3cell Lipo at 3700 mah for power. Prop was a Topflight 12/8 I had laying around which was right at the recommended range. Now I have been flying Cubs for a long time and have never had one that didn't love to fly. Sunday the wind was up a little much but what the heck. Got to admit the throttle responce was much better than I expected, and when I turned into the wind, throttled up smoothly it was airborne in nothing flat. Even with strong winds, the AXI pulled the Cub with all the power of a good 4stroke. Only problem I had was not hearing an engine while setting up for landing, I had to make several approached to learn how to adjust the throttle to keep from stalling. On one landing attempt the plane was just about stalled competely but the AXI pulled it right out and allowed for a go around. Must admit that other than the lack of sound this is a great way to go. I have a H9 Extra 260 that now I am concerdering going electric with!

Harrier was no problem. Torque roll will have to wait, a long time, eye to hand reflex not what it was twenty yrs ago. But that would be a sight to see J3 Cub Torque rolling
