Here's my IMAC ride for this year (2009). Well at least for a little while. Once I get out of basic I'll be getting a PAU Pitts to put the gear from the Stinger in. Right now the Stinger is at 19lbs, which is kinda hefty, but should do ok in basic. Besides, it will just handle wind a little better. I've been having problems setting it up as this is my first gas plane. I've had glow and electric before, but none this big.

Having problems with my ESKY HONEYBEE KING 2.
I am just a beginner learning to fly, I am having problems trying to get the lift; the lipo battary is fully charged, the heli has all been trimmed and I have had it up in the air, but for some unknown reason when I try to get lift the main rotor blades don't turn. Could anybody out there assist me on any reasons why this would be occuring.

Thanks John.

I have attained an all new low at my job. I have posted in the past that I am a surgical tech working 3rd shift to cover emergency call while I'm in school during the day. Well, the other night I had to help remove a 14 inch long 3.5 inch thick cucumber out of some guys ass. His excuse for placing it there? He was horny. Hepatitis C and MRSA, too. I should get hazardous duty pay.

I want to know if the futaba FASST radio sytem that uses only one spektrum type receiver is as reliable as the JR system that utilizes multiple receivers? If not, why wouldn't futaba do the same?? Is the futaba fasst system worth it or should I go with the JR? Looking for facts, not opions.
thanks a bunch for any info.

I would like to bring back into this generation's minds eye the forgotten American hero Douglas Corrigan, better known as Wrong Way Corrigan.

I took a poll recently and asked if people ever heard of Wrong Way. Most people think of him as some nut that flew the wrong way somewhere but he was much much more.

In the words of the New York Times article from July 17, 1938....
"Douglas Corrigan claims his place in the annals of aviation history when he "mistakenly" flies from New York to Ireland. With a single flight, Corrigan breaks the law, charms the Irish, becomes an American hero and earns an unforgettable nickname.""

Douglas Corrigan passed away at the age of 88 on December 15, 1995

I dedicate this blog to him.

Well, my sponsor dropped off the new Hangar 9 1/3 scale Cap 232 at my house, finally. Man, this thing is a beast.

We'll be running 8411's all around with a Zenoah GT80; basically building it up per Horizon's and Hangar 9's instructions and completion guides. We'll modify as needed later on.

The hardware, engine, and radio will be arriving on Friday, along with my new antenna (for my 9303), so I'll be getting started on the building process then. I'm guessing about 2.5 weeks or so to completion, depending on how long I have to wait for parts and extra hardware.

This should be an interesting build, considering I've never assembled a giant scale ARF before. Should be fun, though... I'll be posting a build thread with pictures as I go, trying to get a little input on techniques.

New member Brain Storm admitted to reading the Hexham Model Flying Club rule book inadequately. Brain, pictured here with his 1/1 scale 1946 Aeronica 7AC, not only arrived without a restraint for engine starting, but proceeded to fly without a peg!

Meanwhile, the Naughty Boys, fed up with being unable to get their cars in to the field, are said to be negotiating with Brain and buying parachutes.

Brain is welcome to drop in anytime, but next time, please at least try to match Flygeek's stick twiddling!

Hi I just bought a 6x12 enclosed trailer and I fly giant scale planes. I was wondering if any one had pictures or ideas on how to set up the inside so I can haul more than two planes. I was down Joe Nall I noticed a lot of guys that had there trailer set up but I didn't pay attention cause I didn't have a trailer at the time. Any help would be great. Thanks

Life has gotten harder. I am going back to college to get my second of possibly 3 degrees. I am currently a surgical tech, now I am working on being a radiological tech with the hopes of being a nuclear medicine tech. That's a lot of techs. But if it works out in less than 4 years I'll be making about double what I make now. I'm still hoping for the powerball. If I do, I'll buy Chris Todd that new Accord he wants. Maybe 2.

Rogue Hexham flyer Axel Lifter had a bit of an incident the other week. Axel, major purchaser of Chris Foss products, owned a 'Wots Wot'. This aerobatic bi-plane was proving a bit of a handful and was often seen terrorising the field on the edge of control. In an effort to tame this beast, Axel had come across a product promising to keep his wayward plane straight and level whenever he didn't intervene (a happier state of affairs for all at the field!). This 21st century product named after fictional rogue computer HAL, was duly fitted and after some brief testing arrived at Hexham field.

The weather on the day of the test flight was unusually benign, just the gentlest of WNW breezes and warm sunshine. Axel placed the 'Wots Wot' on the runway and took off. The yellow plane climbed to 400ft AGL and levelled out. It was as Axel attempted to turn back towards the field that events started to take a sinister turn (or not turn in this case). Bystanders swear that they heard an artificial voice say 'I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that' . Axel's face turned ashen as the model failed to respond to his frantic stick twiddling and carried on in a steady WNW direction, beautifully straight and level.

To the north west of Hexham field, alarms sounded and screens flashed up warnings at the Shovelmadman missile base. There was an unidentified aircraft flying into their restricted airspace at 400ft! Two Tornado's were scrambled to intercept. Despite incessant radio calls, the unidentified aircraft would not respond.

Squadron Leader Narra taking aim

Above Hadrian's Wall, the Tornado's caught up with Axel's wayward model. Realising that an air to air missile launch might be a little over the top on this occasion, Squadron Leader Narra, decided to tip the tiny airframe with his wing vortex. Flying by fast and close the upset air would cause the craft to tumble to the ground. Unfortunately HAL was having none of it and corrected every change of attitude immediately. After several passes had failed to have any adverse impact, Narra decided on desperate measures. Now passing over the luxury resort of Gilsland Spa, Narra opened fire with his 27mm Mauser cannon. On the second attempt, the OS 60 engine was separated from the airframe. The little craft fluttered to the ground in a corn field just west of the Spa. Squadron Leader Narra swears that just before the model struck the ground he heard a metallic voice in his earphones say, 'just what do you think you're doing, Dave?'.

i have recently built a aerotech yak 54 40% and it weighs in at 34 pounds right now. i am not completely done with it yet, i still have to finish covering it and put the servos in. the motor and pipes are already in though. so i was wondering if a da 150 with tuned pipes will be strong enough to pull a 40-43 pound plane around?!
