FUN DAY WITH THE SHOCK

first off let me say how thankful I am that there is a company like Phoenix models producing quality arfs at an affordable price and a company like tower making them available to us in the USA. My complaint is Why stop there ? Phoenix makes some really nice planes that Tower doesn’t carry why? And if phoenix is not going to sell them through Tower why not another outlet . I know they had Zigirc doing some of them for a while but that place is useless they haven’t answered one of my multiple emails .Phoenix said they would ship me what I wanted with a quote of $1100 to ship a $400 kit . I know it’s nobody’s fault that they all have to make a buck just seems to me they are missing out on some sales and we are missing out on some planes !

Interested in large scale jets and prop planes, crash damaged/rebuildable. I grew up rebuilding wrecks at our local field so it's sort of second nature to me. Off runway landings with gear torn out, fuse broke in half, wing torn off - even major damage is often repairable. Wood and composite. Will purchase just airframes or including gear, engine/turbine, electronics.

Yes, after 3 flights a mishap on the 4th flight and took off with full High Rates and lost it in the Lake adjacent to our RC Club field.

Worked on the PAU Extra 300SF cowling really BIG time.

Used Gorilla Clear Glue instead of Epoxy resin to glue in Fiberglass strips inside the cowling (breakage points due to crash in lake) and the Gorilla worked better in my opinion. Sanded it afterwards like crazy to prep it for painting.

Needs filler at the worse breakage areas and more sanding.

Gorilla Clear glue is easier (zero mixing) and faster to work with and cures faster!

GP 61 falcon 24x8 carbon prop this plane is fast a 50 would fly it great.

Two weeks ago I was lucky to find this fantastic PAU Extra 300 60-inch wing span 3D airplane model. Finally last night I populated it with the power system, servos and receiver. Did an ALL nighter and double checked everything since this model came airframe only, however, the previous owner sold me the servos, power system, associated hardware at a terrific deal that I could not pass by!

As expected the model zoomed upwards like a home sick dove thanks to the Scorpion SII-4020-540Kv brushless outrunner motor and coupled with the Castle Creations Talon 90 ESC.

The first flight under my watch exhibited a Bronco event as I had forgot to provide expo!

The subsequent flight was much better and it flew like it was on rails!

I am a very Happy Camper!
