Hello,
Has anyone heard of using the Saito 33cc gas radial in the 27%? (30 size) Pilot YAK?? It appears like it will fit in the cowl. Not sure about the performance or weight.
I have not looked at the Arroworks for fit but all of mine are tail heavy anyway so it might be OK
Thanks

Does anyone know where to find servo hardness where you couple all 3 wing servo to your smart fly? i know thunder bolt Rc sells them, but man they are in canada, and they are saying up to 2 weeks before shipment arrive, are there any one within the state that sells these thanks

I finally found a set of plans for a wing that would work to make a Northrup N9M-B... The "Flite Test" guys have a wing called the "Kraken" and it had the right dimensions with a few mods to look like the N9M-B. I added some wingtip extensions, drag rudders and leading edge slots. I have all of the flight gear installed along with a 3 axis gyro but still working on the motor mounts which will be made from lite ply and will also be removable. The size... well it's almost 8 foot. Should be a fun one to fly!

:209: Greetings from down under (Australia) I would like to thank you people for the help I received with the Saito engine I had obtained in bits she is now in one bit and in the air ,thank you once again.
My 11.5 ft. Cub is well on the way ,hopefully I can get her covered before
the hot summer sets in as the weather gets rather hot ,the covering I haven't decided on yet ??? I have had a suggestion put to me that ,I think its called bim silk?? , it's much like the original covering, have you blokes got any suggestions, no harm in asking.
When I find out how to put a pic or two on here I will , she's a monster ,sorry for that little brag.
My club is the Moria Model Club it's on the Murray River 9 mile south east of Cobram in Victoria Australia have a look on Google, ripper of a spot ,the big long dam on the south side is for the float planes when it fills its approx 400 yards long and 100 yards wide. Its quite a drive for my old mate and myself, nearly 90 mile, but worth every mile . I won't bore you any longer but thank you very much again for your help:209:

Hi guys I am new around this forum, but very familiar on RCG. My username is exactly the same if you care to check it out. There is more updated stuff there since I just joined! So hi guys, my current project is a Funtana S-.90 brand new from 2003. It was like a time machine. Still getting used to flying it though.

The Hanger 9 Sopwith camel looks cool! but I hear its a bear to land and a little squirrely to take off. Since I haven't flown for years I better look for something more docile but IMHO the camel is a beauty. I am trying to ramp up and build my confidence with a new Phoenix V5 flight sim. I purchased from H.H. linked with my 5 channel Spectrum which was included in my newly purchased Apprentice. Getting back at my age is a task but I really enjoyed flying and I am overwhelmed with all that is new. WOW! O by the way my name is Lee (like the great general who lost the war) but my wife is Lila so it was easy to come up with Lela.

I think it is general knowledge that Christen Eagles are a bit of a hand full. Mine does not disappoint in this regard. After altering the incidence of the wings to almost what I wanted, I took it out for a flight. It flew much better but is still tucking a bit to the undercarriage. So that little bit I thought I am getting away with, it is not going to happen.
The approach was picture perfect and what happened after that is not quite clear!?

See the wheels touched down lightly, in fact perfectly, not a bumper, nice and smooth. The next moment all hell broke lose and all I could do was watch!

It got airborne again, dropped the left wing, hitting the tail on the runway, then the left wings, nose went flying, right wings, .......and all was over! Or shall I say my plane was all over.

My two friends and I stood there looking at each other, not knowing or believing what we just witnessed. Then the expert in all of us came forward and we all had theories and explanations on what happened. All I can think is that the eagle might have been a tad heavy in the tail.

It is fixed again, with some proper support struts for the engine box which by the way was very thin and in my opinion to flimsy to carry the GP 61. I need to put all the paraphernalia back where it belongs and shim those wings properly, then make sure the nose is slightly heavy, just ever so slightly, else it is going to nose over again, and it will be good to go again.

I was to embarrassed to take pictures of the broken bird, but will post some before and after pics this time.

Hi all;
New to writing here. Getting on in years (like many in the group) and not flying as much as I used to. Was in the Beaumont 605 club for years (life member) but moved to Calfornia where kids are.
Wanting to get more active and trying to get in shape after some unwanted surgery and therapy.
Happy Days!

Need help.

Trying to install smoke nipples on my DA70 wiht JTech mufflers. The mufflers have a designated spot to drill out for the nipples, which I did. However, I quickly learned that aluminum doesn't braise.

Thought about tapping it and just using a grease fitting but grease fittings have a ball bearing and spring which would not be good in the long run for my Sullivan smoke pump.

So now I have drilled mufflers with now way to install the nipples.

Any advice? Big regional fly-in this weekend that I would really like to attend...with smoke

I have a friend who recently gave me this plane all done all we had to do was put a radio in it, well the issue was we had no manual for it and had no idea where the cg was so we put it where we thought it should be about an inch back from the wingtip and balanced it from there, we pulled 2lbs 10 ounces out of the nose because the guy who our friend built it for never flew it and messed a bunch of stuff up, well we tried to fly it and it dropped the tail the second it came off the ground, and ended up slamming back down to earth destroying the wing, so now my dad and i are curious as to if anyone has either the plans or kit for one and also knows where the CG is supposed to be located.

Kelley Payne managed to catch my Carbon Cub blow it's top off this weekend at the Magnolia Fly Low In. Enjoy the carnage!

!!!!! In no way am I blaming Aero-works for this airplane coming apart. Please don't start any company bashing! I flew the hell out of this thing for almost three years and it's finally had enough. I would get another tomorrow because it is an amazing model!!!!

I bought an unopened Vanquish 2M kit. The overall fit and finish seems to be very good, except for one thing. The right horizontal stabilizer incidence adjuster has the srews backed out and is loose. My wife and I both talked to Curtis Cozier, the operations manager, at Extreme Flight, and all he said, in a nasty way, was that we could send them more money to get a replacement set, because we were not the original purchasers of the kit, and even though I sent him a picture showing that the parts had never even been removed from the bags. This was a factory defect, and even though maybe I didn't purchase it directly from Extreme Flight, somebody did purchase it from them and they received the money for it. I have seen many glowing posts about this company, but I for one will never buy another kit from them. When my wife spends a weeks pay to buy me a special birthday gift, and a plane that is supposed to be of this caliber, if it was a virgin part, you would think they would stand behind it. Ok so I know it's not RC related but most of my friends don't care about this and I know there are a lot of old school brit bike fans out there. These pictures are of a 1966 BSA lightning 650 that my father and I have been restoring for the last 2.5 years or so. It's not quite done yet but we just got it back on it's wheels so it is a victory of sorts. I fully rebuilt the engine and did the wheels while my dad is doing the chassis. I live in FL and he lives in Texas so it's sort of a long distance project but now that the wheels are done, my part is over and the rest is in his hands. We never planned on taking it to this level but when I presented the engine to my father on Christmas he was so blown away by how well it came out that we decided to do a full resto. My father spent a lot of time making tools to rebuild the suspension and meticulously rebuilt both gauges and calibrated them. While not a full concourse resto it will be about 95% correct or better. We are using powder coat and modern base/clearcoat paint instead of lacquer, we added electronic ignition (for reliability) along with a add on oil filter and there are a few non OE parts in the engine. Other then that it will be 100% OE. My Father purchased this bike when I was 9 years old (I'll be 41 in sept.) and it had major engine issues (cracked cases). With 4 kids to raise my father just pushed it off to the side and there it sat for over 30 years. I'm not a huge brit bike fan but this bike is special to me and will be be cherished for the rest of my life. Please feel free to post pics of your babies and resto projects. Show us What'ya got
