The day I bought the P3. -
Another Angle of the P3 after I bought it, pretty easy to set up . -
Love how new it was!! -
Repainted the propeller as Skip Stewarts P2! -
Looks a lot better with the painted prop! -
Callie Graphics provided the MT prop logo. She did a great job!! -
Carbon struts are completed. I took off the Carbon rod from the foam ones. I used the foam strut shape to cut out the carbon strut. I then glued the carbon rod to the back of it and sealed it with clear gloss scotch tape. -
Carbon fiber tray is in. 250mm X 200mm 3K twill carbon sheet can be found on eBay for about 10-14 dollars. You can use scissors on it to cut to shape as well. You can see the original tray by the prop. -
Up close with the prop: I used Tamiya 2mm vinyl masking tape to mask off the markings after I painted the prop white first. -
Carbon wheel struts: I basically measured, cut a rectangle and then cut a diagonal. I then glued with gel CA and used accelerator to quick cure it. Completely solid. -
the original broke in the move: update the shape of the horn, cut in Carbon, epoxy the horn, pin vise the holes for the control rod and done.. -
I took off the decals from the foam struts, cleaned up their shape, since they no longer would adhere on their own i used gloss scotch tape a little larger than the decal, x-acto cut it and taped it to the carbon strut. -
You can see the detail of the Carbon here, along with the carbon spar from the foam strut makes this really strong. when the foam wing flexes in flight, this will be structurally better to handle hard maneuvers. -
Silver sharpie'd around the flames. Came out really good

The day I brought her home from Rosedale MD. The plane traveled well, though it extended beyond the Bed of the truck so the gate had to be left down. -
removed the plane from transporting it in the bed of my truck. this plane is pretty substantial. generally in good shape, it will need some love from what I see. nothing I cannot handle though. -
Inspiration picture: Going to go with this Spinner prop combination on my plane! -
Possibly this graphics package i would be interested in from BandE. still, too early to tell how I want this Yak to look. -
This is the engine that is in the plane. 7hp sounds good to me. DLE 60cc Twin. -
Rudder servo and SWB arm attached 8) -
A look at the inside of this Yak. not much yet, however its pretty clean inside. -
The plane with its previous owner, Chris Nickman (Chrisknickman). He is a really good dude!! Highly recommend him if he has something up for sale. Thanks again Chris for being honorable and upfront!! -
Inspiration: I actually like this plane with a 3 blade prop. Not sure how well that works with a 60cc twin though.

Added REAL Carbon pants and landing gear struts. The Beast looks and flies a bit better since the pants and struts act as winglets to a small degree. you can find the carbon sheet on Ebay for $10.99 or so (200mm X 250mm X 0.3mm). Cutting is pretty easy. -
Carbon battery tray to accommodate larger batteries. Also is much more sturdy than the Depron foam originally in there. Plus it looks much better as well. -
The paint match for the BEAST colors found on rcgroups.com. You can find both on Amazon and Ebay, though Ebay I found was cheaper at $5.00 instead of $10 something on Amazon. -
Not mine: but great inspiration from rcgroups.com. This uses Depron layers, sandwiched together to form the pants. Pretty cool if you ask me. -
My friends plane. I am feeling the need to build a UMX version with the spare parts I have. -
Not mine: Inspiration from rcgroups.com. Nice 3 blade prop. -
The instrument panel will look something like this, will be a printout that is laminated to scale most likely. Weight purposes. -
The Beast up on the old workbench. -
The day I got the Beast!! I loved it!! -
Fooling around with the camera the day I got the plane. -
A pic of the real Beast. -

Close up of the prop and spinner combo. This was much more stable in flight with this set up than any other set up I went with. -
I painted the props in the MT propeller livery, it was easier for me to see the prop speed to gauge landings along with the AoA (Angle of Attitude) -
I found that the OS .25 leaked plenty after running, so I plugged both with shop cloths. eventually I went with vinyl caps over the carb inlets. these engines will need service here soon just to make sure the props aren't causing any wear and tear. -
It was a beautiful day to fly!! Flys on rails with the prop/motor combination along with the no.7 glow plugs. -
Picture of the Twinstar in low speed low level flight. -
This has become by far one of my favorite planes, due to its docile nature now. -
Closer view of the low speed flight, it even looks cooler with the 3 blade combination. -
My Twinstar and I...in case you all wondered what i looked like haha. I can get about 13 or more minutes of flight time on this Twinstar with fuel left over. -
The P 51D before modification and the Twinstar getting ready for maintenance. -
Just another angle to see the Twinstar at.

The day I won the plane lol. -
After the Christmas party for the club. I opened the box and built her! lol -
I then painted the prop the proper color that night. -
Shortly after I painted the prop in matched colors. it looks so much better than the black and silver. There were 3 painted styles by the same manufacturer at the time. -

When I finally finished the refurb. Motor, skin, prop, wheels all re done. I added a sliver pinstripe to the edge of the white on the wings, elevator, fuselage to give the Ultrasport even more character. -
-
The day I brought the Ultrasport back from Lebanon PA swap meet. got 5 new servos for 50.00 as well, see piled on the ground!!! -
-
This is what the fuselage looked like the day I got the Ultrasport. Notice the dullness of the motor, acetone, scuff pad and a final 0000 steel wool does the trick exterior wise to brighten the motor up. -
-
Captured while flying the Ultra Sport. Flies like its on rails. -
progess shot after 90% completed Solartex re-covering. -
prop was painted white to ensure it would be seen better both in flight and run ups on the ground. -
Another prop shot. -
its just so pretty. -
Inspired by real flight ultrasport scheme. -
Top view after the white Ultracote was applied. -
90% of the with Ultracote was applied here. Awaited more supply in order to cover the elevator and rudder. Engine was re-installed and plumbed, ran and removed and recleaned exterior wise. Reinstalled and mineral oil added into the carb and covered. -
It looked much more sleek after the recover. Re-polished the canopy and waxed it. -
I cant get enough of this plane. The Rudder and Elevator was covered here. Lined the white with Silver pinstriping. -
Spreading the Ultracote white to the tail here. it looks even better in the air. -
Here is the Ultrasport with the old wing covering believed to be very old solartex, not a tear in it, solid, but the color choice I didn't like. Working the new prop in: balanced and the edges of the new prop. The gear set up from 2-56 to 4-40 set up -
On the gear and red, she was starting to look good. -
glow plug was slow close to the prop when I bought it, had a friend cut himself trying to start it. So I added a glow plug relocation ignition unit. now no more prop strikes to fingers. :) -
pulled the motor, refurbed it and cleaned the motor bay. -
getting mostly red... -
re shaped the wing edge to a NACA 11 airfoil style for a greater ability for rolls.. -
A photo shot from the tail. -
Re skinned for the most part....Solartex is a great product, cant speak highly enough about it. -
Look at all those ribs..still in good shape. -
After tearing the silver skin off and gently sanding the wings. I pulled everything out of the airframe that I could, cleaned it it, sealed it. Then replaced fuel lines, screws, rods, servos. -
re-did the gear assembly covers to fit better. It truly did need it. -
You can see the wheel well was a bit of a mess, I did fix that to have ABS custom insert to clean up the look and add stability. -
After finishing the gear assembly covers. much cleaner appearance and quality. -
Closer look at the gear assembly cover. The original had alot of gaps and was a cheap plastic. -
Fresh covering using Solartex, first time using it too. I highly recommend it, its durable, forgiving and tough, you definitely get a great product for what you pay for!! I added a center wing decal to identify settings for the OS 61.

after assembly: Took the exhaust manifolds and painted them before installing them. -
Great pic done by a club member of my P51 Flight that summer. -
The first round of detailing on the Mustang. Again though it needed more. -
Playing with the camera in the late evening in the summer. -
The motivation behind the scheme change. Nervous Energy V. -
removed graphics, mastic filled all the damaged areas from over the years. Gently sanded and refilled if needed. -
Rustoleum silver plastic coating with a Rustoleum polyurethane undercoat. -
masked off for the Rustoleum yellow plastic bonding paint. Rustoleum black for the anti reflective nose. with all said and done paint only cost 25.00 for 5 cans: Urethane clear, Black semi gloss, Silver, Yellow and Red. -
Masked off for red. Added the Callie graphics custom made! -
first round of checker painted on. -
second round of checker painted. red and yellow vinyl pinstripes completed. Spinner painted and re-installed. -
One vertical Stabilizer top is painted. only 7 more surfaces to checker..ugh lol. -
Walking strips done. -
It is starting to come together. -
-
The checker pattern is getting there.... -
Began the cockpit details for the P 51... -
The seat is in for now. -
Red vents finally painted :) -
replaced spinner bolts since they aren't really available anymore.

I started this project since my flying field wont support a turbine aircraft. Nothing against the club, but has everything to do with a community agreement with the town. turbines tend to catch fire, we fly around agricultural farms, you get the point :) -
the first 2 weeks of owning the plane I was getting to know it. Love its size. -
rearview was just as good! -
Large at 6 feet! -
with an $80 pilot at the helm lol. Just a big child dream to have a flyable GI joe hahahaha. -
Me for scale! -
New Paint scheme courtesy of Callie graphics. I needed something different from the stock tail. -
ordered and on its way!! I am super excited. -

I have never figured out who made this as far as a manufacturer was concerned. But i got it at a steal of a deal!! -
I was changing over from nitro to gas on this Tigercat. I chose RCGF 26cc over the Saito Fs 120s's already installed. Beila 17 inch props chosen over the master Airscrew 13 inch 3 blade that came with the plane. -
Its big.... -
test fit the scaling of the Beila props after I received them in the mail. -
The day the engines and props came in!! -
I couldn't help myself but to assemble them together!! -
All the parts laid out!!!! -
All parts are in!! Time to do the work! -
The day I got the plane home from Ohio! it was my first large scale twin engine! -
Jan 1, 2019... let the work begin. orbital sanding with 120 grit.. -
opening of the wheel well to begin to make gear doors... This part will take me the longest I think. I will be asking for help and suggestions along the way :) -
pneumatic access points checked and tested. Gear came down without a hitch. -
removed damaged area in order to begin repairs there.. While in transit from Ohio to Maryland, a little bump in the road caused this break. finally cut out all the damage. Time for sanding the edges smooth and re-building the section. -
makes it easy to see where I need to fill in the depressed areas!! -
top view with upper access panel opened. batteries and receiver.. -
nacelle mounting wall. -
remove-able motor mount..cool!! -
Back on the gear again!! That makes it easier to work on in my opinion. You can see where I started sanding the paint imperfections. time for some spot putty and a re-primer soon I hope. -
Sitting on the Robart/ CJ landing gear once again. -
Well built avionics compartment. Don Palmer 83 inch plans certainly had the right idea. Its fit is reallly tight! -
Putty work begins before new primer coats. -
-
Panel lines just beginning. Doing rivets as well. -
-
-
-

-
-
Began panel lines and panel relief. Next up 4000 rivers simulated..lol

Another older pic: an engine dummy shot, detailed it out. -
The day I received it from Tower hobbies. I had ordered a 12 X 7 master airscrew 3 blade along with it. It made the flight characteristics smoother and less jerky in the air. -
I felt the original paintjob left alot to be desired. So I painted the plane like Ira Kepfords Corsair. Callie Graphics had the graphics I needed. -
Went with panel definition that showed some depth of the weathering these planes would face in their theater of operation. That is an ultrasport 60 i had refurbed to flight condition with all new components and servos, etc. -
Decided to add a Brewster Bomb rack to the build. I bought a Flyzone Zero Bomb to fit on the rack. -
I repainted the pilot in a more accurate color scheme. I added a projection gunsight scratchbuilt. Also added the bulletproof-esqe glass too. Amongst the swtiches on the console. -
Added a tailhook. it was pretty easy to install scratchbuilt. -
I added detail to the 12 X 7 3 blade, however, it was too small of a diameter to imply proper scale of the Corsair. Painted the radial. -
The Dynam 13 X 7 electric prop dressed with Callie Graphics! Smooth flyer and scale speed gives this Corsair it's scale edge. Engine is weathered with Mig Jiminez Oil wash product. -
Picture of the Bomb and bomb rack. its held in place with Earth magnets. -
Underside view with Panel detail. Looks real when it flies! -
Changed the prop to a Dynam 13X7 3 blade. Used Callie Graphics to the prop. -
You can see the scratchbuilt gunsight reticle I constructed. -
Full view of the Corsair. -
Scratchbuilt Brewster bomb rack assembly: ABS tube, Balsa, Brass tube, Sheet Styrene, 2 earth magnets, 1 Adam 12 bomb. -
After I added the Dynam prop. It was a bit lighter than the master airscrew prop, So I could run the motor slower and get just as much lift . This was the original paint scheme Flyzone utilized for production... needless to say I didn't like it very much -
More detail setting on my sidewalk at home. -
the lighter color is a base of Alclad Aircraft Aluminum over flat black primer. Airbrushed in... Where the control surface was fabric, I used white instead of Alclad. -
3/4 view -
There is a message to TOJO on the other side of this bomb..heehee -
I need to add oil spotting and this bottom will be completed. -
Good lighting to see some of the detailing.. I have a tru turn "A" style nut replacing the stock hub cover. -
The day after Christmas when I got the plane from tower. Merry Christmas gift to myself.... -

Just me and my 330SC. -
The day I got the Extra, It needed nothing!!! It was clearly well taken care of by it's previous owner. I felt I wasnt happy with all small planes, needed to go larger lol. -
The day I flew the 330 with my son! It floated into it's landing. Its the reason I take him with me, quality time! -
MT propeller logo with red tips. One of my favorite views! Have to keep it looking professional lol -
I am flying! Club member got the photo, I didn't even know it! One of the best flying planes I have, plus its my favorite 3D plane! Flys like its on rails. -
the PAU and the 330 just basking in the sun... Such a great day to fly! -
loads of field equipment haha -
I had been searching for quite some time to find either a graphics package and/or an elemental design for my Extra. I finally found elements I liked that worked with the color scheme of the plane. -
Shout out to Flip Flop 3D group on Facebook. Some of my greatest friends in this hobby are on this group. -
Looks ready to fly!! -
Certainly this was the right graphic fit for this scheme and plane :) -
Completed the graphics for the Extra... I must say Callie Graphics does an outstanding job!! Her prices are right on for what I was looking for!!! Contact Calliegraphics for your custom work needs!! -
Working in carbon plate details.

like a 3D jigsaw puzzle (pun intended). This was my first real Build. Everything else I had was either ARF or PnP or used. -
The day I got the plane, i couldn't wait to put it together and get a feel for its size! -
Dry fitting everything together here. -
Can you see the Sky-slicer MK5 influence? -
This plane lands like a Ballerina and a butterfly combined! This was when I was tuning the DA35. Needed to Keep the cowl off for that. -
This was the third flight for this PAU, before I picked up graphics. -
I wanted to keep this as clean as possible. Wire Loom in Green everywhere. Went with MKS servos all around 7.4V set up. -
A little better view of the internals. Kept it lightweight too! 12.2lbs. -
-
-
First time mounting to an engine box. Took it slow and got it right! -
Cowl Fitting after Motor mounting came out good. Went with a Miracle Fuel dot and dual switch so I wouldn't have to fuss with it. Green fuel line to keep the theme going. -
Just before I painted the propellor tips Neon Green. I was watching PLANES with my son and loved Ripslingers propeller! Graphics were from B&E. -
a low glide for fun!!! -
Myself and the PAU. -

I submitted this photo to B&E to use in their Gallery. Really liked how it came out.
