I've been watching my dad build and fly model airplanes all my life. Me and my buddys used to fly control line stuff when we were kids and I lost interest when I was about 16 for some reason. Probably because the cox trainers were too busted up to put back together. Not to mention cars, dirt bikes and girls. Not necissarily in that order. Oh yeah, don't leave out the 3 kids and now 3.5 grand kids! Crap I'm getting old.
Then suddenly, last year, something happened. My dad was talking about realflight and me, being a long term gaming addict, wanted to "play". A few pulls on the sticks, an old pc traded for a hitec laser 6. A hobby co nexstar, several weeks in G3, the "priceless" solo maiden flight on the nexstar trainer and the rest is history. I'm hooked!
I've built and splattered several foamy's since then and I have my trusty 1/6 cub that I hope to fly until it shakes apart on that sweet sounding saito 62a.
I love building almost as much as the final product. I just have plane ADD. At the moment I have 2 in process and can't keep my mind off of the next plane I will build.
This hobby is and always has been cool. I was just not ready until now.
