I completed the build and got to maiden the Giles. What a great flying plane.
I want to say thank you to my brother for an amazing airplane. The plane flew great with no surprise and had plenty of power to spare.

Well, we made the trek and managed to get some video organized into a 5 minute Joe Nall epic summary sort of thing. I hope you enjoy the Fun, Fellowship and Hospitality of Triple Tree someday if you already have not. It is a beautiful place with great people and there is just tons of awesomeness going on. You gotta see it to believe it.

Get your 5 minutes worth of popcorn ready cuz here we go... God bless y'all

The Wind finally went from 35mph to 10-15 with some occasional 20mph gusts. So I took the advantage of the "little" wind and got enough video for this little Intro to Twistedhobbys' brand new release, the Crack Camel! This video features the Blue scheme. Man this plane is amazing,! Very light, agile, and responsive. It can also be a good trainer when the rates are dialed down, a very smooth feeling, especially with no wind.Thank you Twistedhobbys for all the support and thanks to the Lord for His blessings!

I am running the TMW Twistedhobbys combo, with a 2s 450mah (will probably change to 600mah)

kit and power combo available at Twistedhobbys.com

I purchased a 29% Orange & Black SBach from another pilot. It is in need of a new Cowl and Red Wing no longer carries the replacement. Any Suggestions?

Started with the VQ Pilatus Porter; 107" wingspan, 30cc in the Swiss Alps livery. White & blue. While researching the the plane, I discovered the American built version, the Fairchild AU-23. This plane was used for special operations in Vietnam. The Thai government purchased them from the US and also use them for COIN ops. Their planes were camouflaged in three tone tan, olive and dark green.

I was originally going to make this a 12s electric, then decided on gas.

Major components:

DA-35 with Pitts muffler, Chevron 91 octane and Redline racing oil, 40:1
Savox servos in Ailerons, Flaps and tail.
Hitec servo for throttle
Futaba servo for tail wheel
Sparkbox, Castle 75 ubec pro, Fromeco 5200 lion, Scorpion back-up
Spektrum 9 chreceiver with 2 satellites

Painted:

Scheme-Royal Thai Air Force
Self-etching primer
Tamiya spray paint
Tamiya Acrylics airbrushed fine tuning cammo
Satin clear

Pros:
VQ covering accepts paint very well
Well built ARF
Flies great

Cons:
Some parts ok quality
Tail wheel steering week, changed to having its own servo
Wing strut attachments changed

Scale details added:

Side turbine exhaust
Antennas

Details to be added:

Pilots, Vulcan gun mount, interior cabin
Retractable landing lights
Wing pylons
Markings
