Let's build a prop bolt pattern list

I've been attempting to compile a list of propeller bolt patterns for most of the popular gas engines and thought that this information would be useful to others. Here's what I have so far. Since I don't own each of these engines, I've had to construct the list from whatever data I can find. So have a look and post any confirmed changes that I should make. Also, please feel free to post information for other engines you know about and I'll add them to the table. We should be able to make this a very complete and accessible list with your help!

Revisions:

2-12-10: Added MVVS/Evolution per data from "aeroparts"; Added BME data per info from "LanceLKs"
2-11-10: Changed 3W100/106 from 34mm to 29mm pattern diameter per RJ Gritter
8-27-10: Uploaded an heavily updated version of the list!
9-21-10: Changed MVVS 45/50 patterns per Pe Reivers
11-27-11 Added several engines per reader data

Re: Let's build a prop bolt pattern list

Robert, the 3W 106 (so I would presume the 100 too) has the same bolt pattern as a DA100L, so it should be a 29mm pattern with 5mm bolts.

At least I hope it's the same, or the bolts in my DA100L must be bent wayyy out of whack.

Re: Let's build a prop bolt pattern list

Thanks RJ.

This is the input I was hoping for from guys who have various engines. My dimensions came from 3W's site, where they post various PDF drawings of their engines like this one for the 106. Note the 34mm diameter prop bolt pattern diameter. I've updated the main post per your input.

No problem. Weird, that drawing looks nothing like my 106. It has a larger hub and compression-release valves on the cylinders which mine definitely does not.

Does anyone know if the DA120 has the same bolt-pattern / bolt size as the 100's?

Re: Let's build a prop bolt pattern list

The best prop bolt pattern would only 2 sizes...
5/16 US single bolt..
3/8-24 US single..
Works for any engine up to and including 300cc twins...
You can use a few anti rotation bolts..If all the bolts get loose and shear the anti rotation bolts the prop only gets tighter...
FWIW
Old A&M without the single bolt adatper is 6 holes, 10-24 or 10-32 on a 1.125 bolt circle
DA and 3W and clones, 6 holes, 1.133 5mm and 1.330 5mm or 6mm.
If you want metric, do a conversion, this is the USA, I use inches and thousandths...

BME 58,116 and 150 all have the small and large DA/3W 6 bolt pattern. You can use either .

Ralph, I appreciate your input. No flaming from this direction, my friend! And you make a good point about units. I'll adapt the table to include both SAE and Metric.

Can you give specific brand names and displacements that the different patterns you provided apply to so that I make sure I get it right?

I didn't realize they had both hole patterns in their drive hubs. Interesting. I'll add them, too. Thanks!

Keep them coming guys. How about ZDZ and other brands? Does anybody have some real dimensions?

ZDZ 80 (and I believe 100) use the same as the smaller bolt circle 3W engines. My ZDZ 80 props fit on the smaller circle holes in my BME, while DA-100 props fit in the larger set. I can go measure it directly if you want.
