Re: Pilot RC 50cc 122" Decathlon

I like it, I like it a lot, except for two things.... The hatch frame around the window completely screws up the look of the window and keeps drawing my attention, and the price.... $1,300 for a 50 - 85cc airframe seems like a lot. I know the wingspan is more like the average 40%'er, but there is a lot less fuse with a Decathlon. The 40%'er is "only" $500 more, and the 98" 25% RC Guys Decathlon is only $409.... Granted this one has carbon parts, and a free custom scheme...

Very interested in this size, I'll have to keep pondering for a while...

That price is ultra high. I was interested until I saw that. Need to keep up with Jason and his 30cc.

I was waiting for Pilot's Decathlon 50cc long time ago, but when i saw the price i was shocked. $1299 is too much for a 50cc.

All pilot-rc 122" planes are $1900, except the Decathalon.
Since it needs a 50cc it could be considered a bargain.

Re: Pilot RC 50cc 122" Decathlon

about the price. the Decathlon is 122" wingspan. the same wingspan YAK54, Sbach, etc. is $1900USD. and $1900USD is even lower than other AL version 150cc planes of other factory.
but Decathlon is even much more diffcult to build and need much more Ultracote. YAK54 does not need to build wing structure, paint Landing gear , paint spinner, no windows, no door, not so many CF wing tube, etc. YAK54 fuselage is smaller than Decathon. but we still sell it at lower price because it use 50cc engine. Hope you can understand.
thanks.

Re: Pilot RC 50cc 122" Decathlon

I really want to get my wife one of these to replace her Sig Rascal, but will have to ponder on that price...... I understand it being more, but hmmmm..... I thought I heard that all pilot planes had to be ordered through Chief Aircraft on the states side of the pond, is that true or is the $200 shipping include buying direct??

What are the minimum servo requirements for this, would one Hitec 7955 cut it on each surface????

I certainly see your point, and you know what it costs you to build and deserve to make a profit. Just as much as I would like to have one, the price is enough to hold me back. I'll keep it in mind, good luck with them !
