This was going to be my imac plane for next season. It was all dialed in until I wanted to have a little fun with it. I've never done 3D with it. Even the guys that witnessed it said I wasn't doing anything that would put the wings at risk.

That was one of my issues. The ailerons are like rubber bands and the tips flutter. I had to fully sheet the ailerons to get rid of the issues. A complete night and day difference in servo life and aileron authority.

Mine had a carbon fiber rod full length put in by Bill Vargas the guy i got it from, and it still took out 2 servos. I really think splitting the ailerons will cure my issue, now hope it doesnt blow off a wing. I really like flying it, but i need to get side force generators on it to see if i can settle the wing rock down a bit

That is really sad. I know it takes the wind out of your sails. Been there. Not with an incident like this. I have taken my Pilot 100cc Edge and really given it a whoopin'. Hard parachutes, insanely wicked knife edge spins....even violent full power blenders. And it just keeps coming back for more. Hopefully you will get some resolve to this lost plane.

Has anyone heard any feedback from Aeroworks regarding these issues.. Seems like they would be very prompt on finding the cause of such structural failures...

I seen a 100cc aeroworks shed a wing. However, it was asking for it... Lol. It was consistently flown very hard. The owner knew it was on him for flying it that way..

Nonsense, these planes should be able to take any and all aero maneuvers and never break. The ground is a different story.

If you search on here for wing failures and P51 failures you will find those answers.

A bit like this one you mean.
High Stress Wing Break by Johnathan Jennings 150cc AW Extra 300 (3 min 56 sec)
Unfortunate yes but this is a good example of a wing being pushed beyond acceptable limits!

It does seem like you have been unlucky though, hopefully aeroworks can at least offer a little support to get you back in the air. Though I guess this would just be out of good will so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I had a tail break on my H9 suk a few years back and they replaced the whole model(the one with servos). No matter how good these airframes are there is always the risk of a bad glue joint or something like that which can let go. Just don't let it put you off a particular brand, especially one with such a good reputation.

You need to check you thumbs, expo, and CG. Mine is stupid easy and rock solid in the harrier without SFG's.

+1. Check yourself, and your airframe. That Edge Flys as good as anything out there.

Model planes are like real planes, they have structural 'G' limits. Model planes have vastly more power than real ones and you can and will get to and past the G limit quicker than you think. Over 'G ing' a plane may not cause failure on that flight but it will cause the wing and tail to fatigue. Over time these fatigues add up to a wing failure or tail failure when least expected.

I think you boys have nailed it on my CG. I have this thing more tail heavy than my Sbach that is rock solid in harrier compared to my Edge. I've often tought a CG shift would help out. I'm not the best 3D pilot by any means & I'm certain that is a huge barrier for me too
