Question
Battery charger recommendations

I have been out of the hobby for about 8 years and now I am getting back in. I have a JR x9303 DSM2 and a yak profile with a Saito 125. I am currently evaluating my old batteries. Probably going to change them regardless to be on the save side.
So I can't find my old charger and I can't remember what I had. Any recommendation what to get? I,m flying glow right now but would like to buy an electric bird soon and maybe later get into gas engines and giant scale.

State of the art for sure, but I don't really need two chargers in one at this stage and the cost is high.

Go to this page:

Find a charger that fits your budget and requirements. I have a couple of the iCharger 106B+ and have found them to be a very reliable and cost effective charger.

Tough to beat this charger for $30: http://www.weekenderwarehouse.com/x1...r-refurbished/

Or new for $60: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXBJBY&P=ML

It's perfect for anything you want to charge. Has cycling capabilities for your TX, RX packs and for small electrics its perfect. You're only limited when you start getting into large electrics with 6S due to the wattage.

Mike.

At this point I only need it to charge my 2 cell li-po in my glow plane and my TX battery. But I would hate not get something a little better for $50 +/- more and regret it later when I go into electrics. What do you guys think of the Thunder Power Tp 610c? What I like about this one is that I don't need a desperate power supply and it's ac/dc for field charging as well.

That's a good choice... TP makes great chargers too! If you want a little more versatility you should also consider the new X2 AC Plus charger with 100 watts total on AC that can be divided between the two ports as you see fit. (300 watts total on DC. 100w/200w) Street price is $100

Some reading for rainy/windy days. Will save you, and us , a lot of questions.
Will also prevent you from burning up several controllers and/or motors and/or battery:
E-flight primer and tools

Don't forget to buy a watt-meter, will pay for itself, several times over.

Charger current goes down as number of cells goes up! Therefore maximum power (in watt) is important too, apart from maximum current and maximum voltage.

Two handy charger selection tools/calculators
www.scriptasylum.com
→ RC calculations
→ electrical
chargers (2 menu items)
The other menu items and demos are also veeeeery handy/instructive for e-folk, add site to your favourites?

Gotta tell you I fly gas and electric - everyone at the field has puffed (and ruined) batteries except me - i use 2 S 1000mah to 6S 5800mah - Judge is right go to Progressive RC and buy the appropriate iCharger - they are great at customer service and the iChargers work - or buy a HK bargain and hope for the best

I like the buddy rc ichargers. I have a 106b for $100 with a paraboard. Can charge literally anything, and up to 5 or 6 of the the same type lipos at once up to 10 amps.
