Interesting, what kind of regulator do you use to handle that kind of amperage?

The main thing is that Futaba produced a 1024 oz servo in a standard case (A700). Thats what I find amazing.

I have one of these servos, and I plan on putting it on my rudder on my new 104" Extra. I do plan on getting two more for the elevators. I would like to fly the airplane on my BLS157s first before I put these servos in to see if I notice any difference.

Yea, I have had my share of smoke due to Castle Cremations ESC's, but the BEC Pro's have been very reliable. Having said that, on my new EF 104 Extra, I'm going to use 2, 5000 mah 2s Lipos and charge them when they get below 8.0V.
Speaking of Futaba BLS 157's, I have been using 4 of them for the ailerons and they still pull the same as they did when new, and still have zero slop. My only regret is they are not made anymore and the CS is lousy. So, when one of them goes, I will have to replace them all.

Is this based on dealing with Futaba USA or Hobbico?

In the past Futaba servo tests have showed they even exceed the specs. Many servos are overrated but the BLS177 is one example that goesover the announced torque.
I have no doupt the A700 will deliver the torque they specify.

I use the 9177 . Those servos are going strong and center like new after 3 seasons on a 35 % . They are the main servo I use, but the 700 series will replace them in my stable if they perform as advertized.

Futaba is discontinuing many servos ( RC Japan site info) and it seem they are heading the 700 series to replace the previous BLS. Just an observation based on was is discontinued and new introductions, not a fact by any mean. Only Futaba know for sure !
