Anyone out there who has owned both manufacturer planes and can share their experience please.

About to pull the trigger on my next 120cc ARF. Extra 300

This is what I have been able to gather so far:

Both have similar construction - full carbon
Both weigh about the same - about 25-26lbs
The EF is slightly bigger whereas the Skywing rolls faster (a gentleman let me fly his at NALLinFall last year).

Price: EF will be about $200 more compared to SW.
SW extra stuff: tank, extensions, spinner, fuel dot, vent dot, velcro, etc.

Fanboys - please do not comment if you have no experience with both of them. I posted this on EF FB page and was removed. I posted this on SW FB page and got only good positive comments on how great SW was but no real info on how the EF is... I would like to see some unbiased information from non sponsored owners.

I have not personally owned both.
But I have a friend who has . Hes owned Aj Ef and Sw .. look him up on fb named terry davis

The 'HOW TO 3D MANEUVERS' FB group isn't dedicated to an individual manufacturer. You might have better luck there.

I would talk to Tim at NW. Can’t think of anyone with more experience with both.

I have had both, and both are awesome! The main thing that separates the two is how skywing is switching to using magnets to hold everything together on all of their designs. We have their ARS and the innovation is amazing! My EF slick on the other hand out performs basically anything. The ARS is an amazing plane don't get me wrong, but it is more of a plane to huck around as the slick is the any 3D pilots plane. Either brand you choose you won't be disappointed with!

I have the slick 100cc as well. Great plane indeed.

However a few places I can see delamination of the CF, the zig zag formers lose adhesion. Performance seems to be a little spongy...

I do not want to repeat this.

In your opinion - which will last longer? Which seems to be built tougher?

Extreme flight does carbon all the way to the tail while skywing only does it halfway to the tail. I think they both are about the same strength level. Both will last a long time if you take care of it well.

Hard to go wrong with extreme flight, they have been there, waaaay back with the edge 540-T profile back when 3-d was still considered black magic and tools of the devil, circa 2003.

SW advertised what looks like full carbon to me on FB and their website.

Seems to be a lot more carbon than my EF slick 100". I see that SW does not have zig zag wood glued like my EF slick but other structural design.

Is your SW not like the SW V2 101" Extra?

Just about most of the information received has been via PM's. (seems like lots of people have both SW and EF but afraid to speak publicly about it). I want to thank all who have shared their experience. Please continue to chime in - here or via PM.

The differences in the latest 35% planes from AJ, EF, SW, PAU can barely be measured. Pick the company you like best, or pick the color scheme that is the best. I've flown planes from all 4 of these guys and they all fly fantastic.

That must be the new ones. My friend had to recover two of his ARS's and told me that the carbon only went halfway to the back.

I narrowed my list to 2 requirements - Extra300 with CF construction. All 4 do make great planes indeed.

Yes the FB post shows full carbon which was confirmed on NWRC's website (USA dealer) as well.

I got another PM from FG member who claims that the main carbon stringers are much thicker on SW (25-40% thicker than EF). I am exchanging measurements with him from my EF slick 580 to confirm this.
