Hyperion or Cellpro

Iím getting ready to buy a new charger and have pretty much narrowed it to these two.
Cellpro 10s
Hyperion 1420 NET3
The output is higher with the Hyperion but only with a very large input (AC-DC PS or lead acid)
So 10 amps is closer to reality which is what the Cellpro is. The Cellpro seems quite convoluted to setup but maybe after some usage that becomes unimportant. The Hyperion does muli-chemistry but I have NiMH chargers and donít do a lot with them anymore. Most everything is LiPo. 5K mah, 2s used in pairs (4s) and 2.6 & 3K mah, 4s, used in single packs. Charge rates are 2c for the 5k and 4c for the 2.6 and 3k. So, all that being said I assume folks have used both of these chargers so what are the thoughts. Both seem to have mostly good reviews.
Thx

I am a fan of Hyperion. I still have two original DUO chargers serving me well almost every day. I like the multi chemistry. I use both lipo and LiFePO4 and this charger does great with both. Honestly, I rarely charge above 1C, I just do not see the need to do it. I am never in that big of a hurry!

I am right now thinking of the new Super DUO EOS0720i. Two packs at a time, separate displays for each and software upgradeable (which all Hyperions are, handy feature).

Both...I have 2 Hyperion Duo 730s and 2 CellPro Multi 4s. The 4s charges the A123s in the big planes and Duo charges all the lipos for electrics...Get a good powersupply for the 10s or 1420s. Mastech makes some badass stuff...its expensive...but worth it.

Yep, I've looked at the 720i DUO. Seems to be a great charger. It's another $ 100.00 over the other two but it's still a maybe
thx for the reply

I own the Cellpro it is a great little charger but the menu system is not very good nor are the dinky buttons on the side, these two features although annoying do not detract from the overall charging experience. I have owned much better chargers but the cell pro is pretty good, probably give it 6 out of 10.

Just my opinion.

Bill (aka: Judge),

You quoted: "I rarely charge above 1C, I just do not see the need to do it. I am never in that big of a hurry!"

I agree with this statement 100%

Both chargers are great but, the Cell Pro has a way in accurately balance charging LiFePO4 chimistry and, the other chargers just do not do. If your looking for multi chimistry charging, I would go with the Hyperion 1420 NET3

I have the Hyperion 1420 Net 3 and would recommend it over the Cellpro.

I'd go with the CellPro 10XP instead of either the 10S or the Hyperion. The 10XP is 15A / 600W instead of 10A like the 10S, supports all battery types and also supports parallel charging of up to 6, 2S - 8S packs with an optional adapter.

I like the 10s better than the 10xp because the 10s will do balance lead only charging.
