Re: NEW EXTREME FLIGHT 78" EXTRA 300!!!!!!

Has anyone received their plane yet who plans on using a DLE 30? What size standoffs does it look like you need?

I called EF this past week on Wednesday and ordered my plane, I'm still waiting for them to ship it.

Re: NEW EXTREME FLIGHT 78" EXTRA 300!!!!!!

I ordered some 5645's for the elevator and ailerons but everyone said they suck (for this) and a 7955 for the rudder. I am going to return the 5645's and just go with 7955's for all the control surfaces. For the Syssa choke, it looks like a nyrod in a rubber tube is the way to go, but I am undecided on the battery, especially with these big servos. Has anyone ever used the LiFe batteries yet?

I'll check on the shipping tomorrow... I thought we were able to get all orders out, but we had quite a few...
we were super busy getting ready for the Perry, GA swap meet (largest in the Country!)

I'll see what I can find out tomorrow!

Re: NEW EXTREME FLIGHT 78" EXTRA 300!!!!!!

Thanks Curtis. I wasn't worried about the shipping being delayed as I know you guys have been busy. I was just curious about what standoff length I might need for the DLE30 in case I wanted to order something ahead of time.

For reference I spoke with you on Wednesday, and the order was being sent up to Canada. I fired you off an email after we spoke on the phone just to confirm the address as well, just to make sure all the details made it over the phone I didn't see any charges appear on my credit card either, so you may have just missed it. No biggy.

Sorry you wound up having to send the servos back.

I was thinking of using a LiFe battery. The Hyperion 2100 mah pack is only 28.95.

EDIT: has anyone used any of the Hyperion servos? I've heard they make great stuff. I was interested in this servo:

Compares favorably with the 7985 but it's only about 50 bucks and is fully programmable.

Just FYI the charge just showed up on my visa. So looks like you did process the order, maybe just didn't ship it yet.

Yep, shipped on Thursday...

as for the stand offs...not sure, but we do provide this..
Distance from the face of the firewall to the thrust washer for the gas version of the Extra is 6.25 inches

so you would just need to measure your engine and go from there.

In the manual it states that the distance for the electric version is 5 1/8" and the gas version is 6 1/4." Is there a mistake in the manual?

Ok. Is there any sort of tracking information for the shipment?

This may be an obvious question, but I'm new to gas engines so bear with me . The thrust washer, would that be where the back plate of your spinner would rest? ie in the following picture, it would be where the measurement starts:

Yes it would be the 130mm dimension in your picture. Looks like you'll need 30mm more of stand off's though. 6.25in x 25.4mm/in = 158.7mm or about 160 mm. You need 30 mm more stand off for this Extra. Or replace those 30mm ones with 60mm ones. Hard wood blocks work too but I like the bling look of alum stand off's.
