Thanks! Can I have the Cortex standing alone, connected to the USB and power to any one of the ports, to program the Cortex?

I got a PC and successfully connected the Cortex to it. On the RC page I configured the Cortex like in the attached photos.

Is this correct if my goal is to connect the Cortex to rx via S.Bus with a double male lead?

I plan to connect the servos below to the Cortex A through E ports opposite of where the wiring harness normally goes and set up channels 1 through 6 accordingly.

A-aileron- ch. 1
B-aileron- ch. 2
C-elevator- ch 3
D- elevator- ch 4
E- rudder- ch 5

Channel 6 - gyro- I don't know what to do about this?

It sure is easier with plug and fly with the wiring harness, but I can't with this plane.

Any help or insight would be appreciated!

The gyro channel of the Cortex can connect to any receiver channel, then in the transmitter, assign a 3 position switch to that channel. When the switch is 1 way you will select Bank 1 in the gyro, switch centered the gyro is off, flip switch the other way to select bank 2. One bank selects normal mode, the other bank selects hold mode. I'd suggest not using hold mode at all and if you decide to try it, only select it for things like harriers, and hovering.

The Cortex came whilst I was gone last week. I installed it this morning, the wires are secured in a way so as to not be tugging on the gyro. Set-up is a simple process but I had to memorize the steps to be able to go fast enough to get through it, definitely could not look at the card while in the process. Everything is working well here in the shop, the amount of corrective movement at 20% does not seem like much but will leave it until I can try it in flight. HH does look to be working as well and will find out how well on the first harrier or hover.

Question for you guys when ya'll get back in regards to the mode 2. Would it be possible, via a PC, to set mode two up with only one axis? I would like to utilize the HH on the rudder axis for certain maneuver's during training. It would be very beneficial to have one less axis to operate until the other two are more familiar.

Thanks BH.
Well today I did it, I flew with a gyro. For years I have felt a gyro was a crutch and did not hold those that used them highly. Boy oh boy was I wrong. The first flight was without the G and the wind was whipping it around, like being in a boxing match with the thumbs. The second flight was with it on in bank 1 and quite honestly I still can not believe how such little help can make flying so much more enjoyable. I still had to fly the plane but it was so much smoother. And I would assume because I was not spending my energy fighting the wind, it felt so much more responsive. I also flew more flights today than I normally would on a trip to the field, guess I was just having that much fun. Thanks guys and thanks Bavarian, I love this thing!!!

S.Bus connections?

I programed the Cortex as in the attached photo. (I'm not sure if it's correct yet).

When attaching the five servo leads to the Cortex, does "A" start next to the jumper wire, or from the other end?

Plus, does my programing look correct for the five servos and using channel 6 on the transmitter as the gyro assignment?

Ok guys, I have downloaded the software and even opened it. But I am not sure how to go about changing mode two to eliminate ail/ele. I don't want to screw something up that will screw it up in flight so I need a little programming advice or tutorial. Is there such a thing on Bevarian's site or anywhere else, a how and what guide for dummies?
