Christchurch Quake

Everyones planes survived around the CHCH area? Most of mine have. Just one fallen out of the roof. TV is over, kitchen has no in-tact crockery.

Epicenter was right at Jeremy's place!!!!!! Well 66km under his place haha.

Largest quake i have ever felt! 7.4 Magnitude! Got launched out of bed and stood under doorway. There's cracks and massive bumps in the road and fences and chimneys down. Apparantly major damage including several building collapses in the city.

No jet engines at work have fallen over luckily, two almost did and are teetering on shifted stands. Machines and equipment have moved acros floor. One tooling cabinet was found 4m away from it's original position.

Ampeater - thanks for keeping us up to date with big quake. Used to live on steep hillside at Lyttelton and the house had a very tall chimney, right next to the main bedroom - always worried about it coming to greet us - sure hope that hasn't happened to occupants. Hope the Insurance Companies are well cashed up at the moment. Good Luck through it all.

Re: Christchurch Quake

Well got downgraded to a 7.1 magnitude quake, and only 10km deep.

Have been having frequent aftershocks, still to this moment 38 hours after. 39 quakes today ranging from 3.2-5.1. Got a very interupted sleep last night!

Check this link for the quakes we have been having: http://www.geonet.org.nz/earthquake/...nt_quakes.html

95% of the chimneys are down around town and some have gone trough roofs of houses or garages or even straight through cars!

Drove past a Church that was in two pieces today, one half was about 2ft higher than the other.

Many bridges that cross the Avon are bent and buckled as if the banks suddenly became a couple of meters closer. I think that is what has happened.

It's all very surreal and airy. Roads are torn and buckled and water pouring out of the cracks.

But major damage seems isolated in small pockets. Lots of liqification in those areas.

Check out the net for photos. There are some goodies!!

Our thoughts are with all you guys. The planes and other possessions can be replaced if necessary.... Your safety and well being are of the utmost concern. I sure hope all of our NZ FG brothers and their families are alright.

God Bless.

Has anyone heard me bad mouthing the person whom I have literally given thousands of dollars worth of RC plane stuff to??????? But for the record I am still waiting for the builder to finish a job that he started almost 2 years ago, and I have been told by my lawyser I have a prfect case though me being me will wait till I have had enough of hearing crap befopre take further action.

Mind you all in all you find who you mates are real quick. At the time **** went down I had a nonremoval oreder inplace for my oldest and the person had left his phone somewhere and ripped into me without asking for the facts.

I've had fun flying on a property with vallies, and stuff though damned shame its getting pivot irrigation due to being sold and being converted to dairy for overseas owners

MAny more Aftershocks today. Was at work this evening and a couple of quakes measuring 5.2 and 5.4 hit shaking the workshop and buggering a job being machined on the vertical lathe. Becoming beyond a joke. nearing a hundred after shocks now
