I am starting IMAC this year and will be attending the Judging and flying weekend. My Edge is not finished yet, whats the minum plane I could bring to fly if I am starting out this year? Will a Fliton AJ Extra work for the weekend? and maybe a QQ YAK 73?

Jamie;

It was nice meeting you this weekend in Toledo (Futaba booth). To answer your question if you are flying Basic you can fly any airplane you wish. Once you get into Sportsman, Intermediate, etc... you have to fly a scale aerobatic airplane such as your Edge. As far as this weekend is concerned, if you have room, bring both the Extra and the Yak!!! See you there.

Re: NC Judging school?

remind me who you were again? I met so many people I tend to forget who I talked too. I am riding down with Stacy Lloyd. Of course the trailer will be packed with his 40%er's but there should be room for my Yak and the AJ Extra, and maybe even my new Foamy.

I am all for flying when I can, even if I am practicing with the smallest plane there.

Re: NC Judging school?

I forgot to ask will there be flying from after the hours that was on not the schedule. I think from like 6pm till dark? I was not sure if the hours meant that was the only time to fly, or the only time you were going to be able to get help with the sequences.

I would like to fly till dark if I can.

Jamie;

You can fly as much as you want until dark and if your plane has lights on it you can fly after dark!!

Do people camp on site or do most go to hotels?

Re: NC Judging school?

Totally depends on the weather. If it is cold and rainy, most people stay in hotels but if it is decent there will be campers.

My hubby and I usually camp regardless of the weather but he can't make it this year so I plan on driving up for the day on Saturday then heading home.
