Very nice work! I am going to build one of these, watching you only motivates me to get started.

How did you cut the remaining hinge slots after the GP tool melted?

I used some medieval tools...
...and some cursing was involved.

OK!
First low half wing almost done.
It's built with a new technique for me, so it took some time.
Like a "mix" between a foam and a balsa wing:
- You glue the spar and web to the sheeting
- Put the sheeting with spar on a foam bed
- Glue ribs and pieces, apply pressure
- Glue tubes, etcetc. with epoxy
- Glue top sheeting with pressure....

I did a few mistakes, but those were corrected and will be avoided next 3 times I hope!!!!
- Rib for the struts was glued twisted. I cut it and re-glued it in correct position.
- Some thin CA run and got the wing tube stuck without noticing it. A little brushing with acetone and some "elbow grease" and it was free again.

I didn't like the design for the aileron servo pocket. After drilling the servo screw holes It became clear it was going to be a pain to mount/dismount after sheeting the wing. And makes any further adjustments a pain. And I would have built a wood cover (even more time, I did it on my CG Ultimate).
So I went with a "traditional" mount with a second sub-rib and some extra light ply.

Saludos,
Jean Paul

Hello FG!

It's been almost a year of slow RC activities (life and work really got in the way this year).
Build was almost stopped & no IMAC this year.

...but now I'm getting back into action.

We had a very nice Float-In event yesterday and I've been teaching my smaller child to fly.
Here are some pictures I took before stopping the build (march) and from the last days when I resumed...

OK
I have to get this done...
Let's go on with the upper right wing.
First the modified servo mounts.

Finished yet?
What size nitro/ methanol engine would this use?
I’m not a gas guy.

Not close … ...I hope I can get back to it soon!

(Do they still sell new 40cc+ nitro engines???)

A good performing Saito FA-300 Twin would make it "fly" for sure and sound cool while doing it, but I don't know about aerobatic performance..
(With a BIG nitro tank inside )

Hello there!
2017-2018 were two very hard years for me , but now GONE...

I got a new Jeti for Xmas, and started flying and building right away on 01.01.2019 - so good modelling energy is expected for 2019. This will be my 25th RC flying anniversary.

Some progress has been made this week and I expect to keep moving forward on this build. I will make a pause after finishing this wing, as I have to get my new DLG ready before a big fly-in the first days of march. (and I go on summer holidays the first two weeks of february ).

Saludos,
Jean Paul
