I'm interesting in this airframe. It suggested 6s3300-4000mah. I have four 5000mah batteries and don't want to buy new ones. Would batteries this size be a big detriment to flight characteristics?

I have 5 different packs we fly in our v1 extra and they range from 3300-4000mah. When we fly the 4000mah packs you can feel the extra weight and just cant toss the plane around like you can do with a lighter pack. In fact i've seen guys fly with quality 2600mah packs and the planes really float although short flights. I personally would not exceed 4000mah or you will end up with a nose heavy bird that will have lost a lot of what makes it great. These airframes are made to perform so my .02 is stick to recommended packs. Daryll

...depends on what you want to do with this flyer. I fly sport / performance (not 3D) and have used 4000, 4500, and 5000 mAh batts and find them all acceptable, with slight shifting of the bigger batteries to maintain CG.

I couldn't wait for our container to arrive so ordered one up from ATL and am so thrilled with what arrived!! Was a shake and bake build as the self aligning stab saves a bunch of time and other than opening up the holes for the Savox 1250's everything just dropped into place!!

Huge thanks to #SupaWife for grabbing a few shots of the maiden flight, I think the mid 20's temperature was easier to handle than my non stop pouting that I wouldn't be able to play with my shiny new toy... 😬😆 Pictures truly don't do this scheme justice as even in the worst lighting conditions, it just jumps out at you in the sky!!! We'll have to see how it looks in the Phoenix skies when we get to the Arizona Electric Festival in about 72 hours and triple the current temperature... 😎

Wish I could of been at the Arizona Electric Festival. Looked like a big crowd and many cool planes. I had fun flying the new Extra for the first time today.
