Question

Hi guys
I have this engine that does not run smoothe in idle. I had it running before i restored The plane and it ran great, My question is about The two ignition, now i have The mounted so that one is connected to The front spark plugs and one runs The rear spark plugs, is that right?? My buddy says that They should cross each ignition to a front and a rear on each side.

Makes no sense...... 1 ignition unit to 1 plug on each cylinder. Makes no sense that they "should" cross fire the plugs. Both units fire at the same time.

Original Poster:
I have a 3W 170 Twin Spark. One Ignition: Front Plug On Left Cylinder, Rear Plug on Right Cylinder 2nd Ignition: Front Plug on Right Cylinder, Rear Plug on Left Cylinder I think this might be what your friend meant by Cross Fire. If one ignition fails, your engine keeps running. |
