Been studying intermediate sequence #4 and it makes no sense

inter upright, push down to vertical, 1/2 roll, positive snap,,, here's the question,,, shouldn t the vertical down line after the snap be a black solid line ??? same thing on #9 after the 3/4.

the plane is unloaded and the aresti doesn't distinguish between positive and negative loads in that figure, except at the entry. if the entry was positively loaded the vertical line would be solid. the exit is clearly marked as positive.

Hi Bill.... If you ever get a hold of the Aresti Aerobatic Catalogue (Condensed), and take a look on page 1, it explains Basic figures and complementary elements.

#3 says: 3. In basic figures, flight with a positive or zero angle of attack is shown with a solid line; flight with a negative angle of attack is shown with a dashed line. In this description, simple dotted lines are used when no specific angle of attack is shown. Flight lines may be vertical, horizontal or at 45° to the horizontal. No other angles are permitted. Each figure starts and ends in horizontal flight, depicted respectively
by a small circle and a short cross-line. The cross-line is vertical for figures ending on the main axis and horizontal for those ending on the secondary axis.

The figure in question is 1.1.6.3 and the base figure is exactly what you see on the Intermediate sequence (figure #4). The base figure starting from inverted 1.1.6.4 is also shown in the accompanying graphic.

There is a LOT more to Aresti than meets the eye and constructing the IMAC Known and Unknown sequences by the IMAC Sequence Committee is a chore that only the strong of heart will tackle.

It will get better... The new site was needed and also there were over 5200 users of the website but not paying members.... I think we need to see realistic users of the website and also the paying members.

Internationally, next year in Europe and South America we will see significant growth as several countries (Europe: Italy, Germany) will be moving over to Scale Aerobatics using the IMAC format for competition.

Much more down in the pipeline..... also with another IMAC World Championship on the horizon in 2018. Last year we ended up with 89 competitors from 13 countries.

The Official 2016 Basic is now posted on the IMAC website under the "download" tab. Couple of figures that have not been in Basic for a while and should prove to make Basic interesting.

Re: Aerobatic turn

Lots of ways to loose points. Rate of roll in/roll out must match, altitude variations, radius change, >60/<90 degrees ..........
