I had a crusty sales rep from an electronics firm pay me a visit a while ago and when the conversation turned to JST-XH plugs he said..."Why do you use those?"

I explained that it is what the charger manufacturers use, what we have to adapt to...

He said that in the US industry they call the JST -"Junk Stolen Technology." (his words) As his story goes, the Chinese stole the tech from the Japanese a few years back. His words "Not the most robust." Of course, they seem to work ok for the most part but still are limited to the 3 amp rate like the JR/Futaba pins.

I get annoyed at all the different balance lead types out there. Be nice if they had. Standard to conform to.

Hello can anyone help me I sure I missed it some where in this forum but I am to old and slow to find it. I am trying to find out how to tell how many Mah I am using on my Life batteries. I have a Imax B8 charger and they seem to only take a little bit to charge every time I take the plane out. I have two 6.6 volt 2300mah life batteries on a Jr 922 receiver. Any help would be great Please. The reason I ask this is someone said that they can drop like stones on the mah if you don't know what you are using and putting back in. Thank you. Eric

Fly for 2-3 flights. Note how many mah goes back in when charge..divide by number of flights. This will be your mah per flight.

Hey guys,

Have several A123 battery set ups and a Cellpro 10s. When the charger is first hooked up th gage many times says 49 to 50 percent. May only charge 10 minutes and take 240 or so mah to bring to full. Batteries are charged and don't have any issues. Any idea whats going on? Happened on one plane with dual 2300s and another plane with a single 2300. Planes were full last winter and this was first charge of the season for me. Note: on dual bat system I chrged one at a time.
Thanks
Bill

My cellpro has never been accurate at the percentage vs the number of ma to get to a full charge. About the same range as yours. Mine has been like this from day one.

Please refer to previous entries in this thread regarding the inability to volt check these batteries and that is the reason the fuel tables on your charger are not useful either.

If you really want to get technical, switch to the idividual cell voltages and read 'em out to the third digit. If you follow that you can actually get a pretty good idea of charge state but in most cases, just charge 'em and note how many mah's are put back into the battery.

It's not a bad idea to run a discharge cycle occasionally and see how many mah's are available and put back on recharge as that number will start to drop as the batteries get older or have more cycles.

mine actually increased a couple hundred mah when i checked em after the first cycle and month or two of use. I cycle em a couple times a season just to know the actual capacity.
