Good post RedfishTom, I definitely agree with two things you said
1. don't take the job home with you
2. always good to be leaving EWR (Newark, NJ)

It looks like a lot of FG members are also full scale pilots. I always wonder how many people who fly RC were full scale pilots. My Granddad is scared of flying in full scale and he flies R/C.

Amazing and kinda sad all at the same time.
Where are you based?
Den based. That has made it all worthwhile for me. Drive to work, ski/ride 20+ days on the mountain per year with the rugrats, coach/attend 120+ baseball games per summer with the same rugrats, and only work Mon-Wed/Thu morning each week so my wife and kids still recognize me...

FWIW, since someone asked...

14K+ hours (although I wish it was half that - flying = being gone from the family)
Types in 737, A319/A320, 757, 767
1500+ TW/aerobatic in Decathalon through Sukhoi - most types
Currently trying to convince my overweight 37 year old body that Unlimited is still possible...

5600 hours, ATP, CFI/II MEI. Spent the last 10 years flying for Uncle Sam and recently decided for a life change. Might get back into flying for a living, might not.

It's a blast to go flying! Planning on slowly going through at least single, commercial.

Now I know how Wayne and Dan feel flying 16 Hours a year. I like it. Lots of time to think about flying model airplanes and visit model factories.

I never thought I would have this opportunity flying a Piaggio, but here I am.

Wayne is still my Hero.
Wow.. 7 hops. Up over Greenland and such, or did you go Alaska to Russia and the like?

Got back about an hour ago from my local gliderport. I have a wealth of experience with my roughly 10 hrs glider time. I did get to fly in the super cub today though! Hoping to get my glider licence soon...

I'm working in my PPL and having a lot of fun in the J-3. Haven't even flown anything with a nose wheel yet!

No doubt you're as cool as everyone, really.

Lost track of total time. Probably somewhere around 10,000+hrs or so. I work for the same company as Jwilliams. Different airplane, and we've never met.

This aircraft looks a lot like rutans starship any relation. I see something like this fly into Charleston from time to time.
