quick fix foamies

Hey guys,

I have started to really get into building scratch foamies lately and have started to run out of hardware.
Could all you foamy guys please share your tips of the trade on cheap homemade hardware. I'm mainly interested in push rod clips.

Thanks
Matthew

Clips that allow a pushrod to connect to horns?

I am building a set for my fancy foams today.

1/32nd wire. Make a z-bend, and wrap a small portion of it to the pushrod with light tackle (3-5lb) test. Then drop thin CA, let it cure and wrap it with heat shrink. If you get the wrap good enough, you really dont need heat shrink.

All you need is some small diameter paino wire (like 0.050"), a 1-2mm carbon rod, a nice long piece of heatshrink, CA, kicker, and a heatgun. That's really all you need to do to make your own custom control rods. For control horns, you can take some of the flat plastic bubble stuff that servos come packed in, or off of an old card or something, cut it into a triangle, with the front of it sticking out over the hinge line (where you place the hole), then cut a slot, sand the edge of the card, and glue in using foam safe CA or something.
