Futaba Service Center Gone

Don't kid yourselves about Futabausa being up and running. I sent my Tx in for service 2 and 1/2 months ago and have gotten nothing but replies about how they are backed up and have had 3 different prices for the repair. I suspect they don't have the spare parts as was the problem with Hobbico. There are 3 "technicians" listed as their repair center and they apparently work for Marketing since they are out of town for weeks at a time at trade shows.

It's obvious that Futaba is getting out of the RC business or paring down to be acquired. .

They have an issue with service and they are trying to resolve it. But I can assure everyone that the statement above is categorically false.

Who/What gives You the inside track... I ,left The big"F" a long time ago when they cost me a couple thousand dollars in Pattern planes, and did nothing to rectify the problems at hand. My biggest enemy now is "ME"

Sent Nick Maxwell this post and he responded acknowledging that they are behind on service, especially for older radios due to parts availability. He also categorically denied that Futaba is cutting back, stopping production, or looking to sell. I'll assume he is not lying to me since I have no reason to think he is.

well, for one thing if you are selling a business you don't run it into the ground unless your ex wife is getting 50% of the proceeds.

30 years of flying Futaba equipment in Pattern and IMAC and have never had an equipment failure, maybe I’m just lucky...

Not sure if it is luck or what you call it. I fly Futaba, Spektrum, and JR and not one issue with any of them. One of my Spektrum radios had who knows how many hours on it over the years and it was so dependable that I was confident to give it a friend that was in need.

Right now I am only flying JR and Futaba and no issues. Certainly things can happen to the radios as they are not above failure, yet from what I have seen over the years most of the problems have been non-radio issues yet the radio is often the first to blame. Often when someone crashes their first words are something with the radio.

I just had a great experience with Futaba. I sent my 9177's in to make sure the pentiometers were good (had slop at nuetral on my ailerons). They took care of me via phone and email. Servos are back in the mail. 1 week turn around. Just call and ask for Skylar. He was a nice dood!

I've flown Futaba exclusively for over 30 years , never a hiccup . No brown outs , blackouts , fly away or failure of any sort . Same can't be said of the brands that virtually introduced those
problems and tried keep adding antennas or whatever to make it go away .
Sailplanes are my thing and I fly them high and wide . Futaba has my full trust .
