Dear God! That's horrible. What in the hell is happenening this year? So many accidents. So many great people killed. This is just sad.

Heard from Ken McGuire. He was there and witnessed it. It went in to the box seats near him and his dad. They are both okay. Praying for the rest. VERY bad accident.

I just got off the phone with my bud that was watching from the infield right at the turn,he said the wings were shaking real bad before it shot up and rolled....He also said that only the pilot died,and around 75 people had some bad injuries,i do hope that is true.He also said it did not hit the stands,but in front of them....again,i hope he is right.He also said the races are canceled.

My version is that as Ghost was coming off 8 into the home stretch on lap 3, I saw a wing rock similar to hitting wake. Then seconds later another rock, and a pull up that looked like a standard pull up off the course for a malfunction. That pull stopped momentarily, and the wings rocked again, as the nose pitched up toward the vertical. The plane appeared to do a barrell roll, and the downline was directly at the main grandstand. That's as far as I could see. Per closer accounts, fortunately, the nose continued through the vertical and he cleared the Grandstand, and impacted at the forward edge of the box seats, which are in front of the stands on the tarmac. Some boxes were impacted, others caught shrapnel, though most of the debris appeared to go away from the crowd, and miraculously there was no explosion. I'm sure most have seen video or news footage by now.

No guesses as to cause yet, will let the investigation play out.

Alot closer then i thought.....and i hate this saying,but it fits sooooo well in this situation "It could have been so much worse"
