I do think Horizon has made a big leap forward with the release of this radio. I would caution folks to understand the difference between being on the "leading edge of technology" and being on the "bleeding edge of technology". Not making a call on either here, just saying there is a painful difference.

I remember someone, possibly Andy Kunz, swearing to god and on their mother's grave that Spektrum would never have a color touch screen. I see they have joined the new trend of not being able to see your transmitter at the field. But really playing with this thing at home is the market. I guess all new Spektrum transmitters will now have a color touch screen.

Maybe it is getting to the point that color touch screens are 99% of the general market and monochrome is getting hard to get?

Doesn't look like that is available for the masses yet. I updated but still am on v1.00.03 build 63

Thanks for the tip!

I would say pretty much like my other DX radios. Throttle might be a bit smoother. Very good overall.

unfortunately the Aiware app does not support any phone nor tablet so it's not possible to taste the software UI.
I was about to try some Android emulators for Windows but I just think it's a wate of time.
Horizon could have created a web with an Airware based simulator, the same way it was available for the JR 28X

Airware and Android are separated and use individual processors in the iX12.

Flew a foamy with mine today for a couple flights. Works nice. Model change takes longer than it used to. Definitely a little different setting up a model than the old way but still easy. Couple of things to get my head around but so far so good.

what's your point here ?

you can get third party gyro apps installed into any phone or Airware UI
I think Airware was coded not to support other than its own processor.
let me guess they make use of individual RAM so you can't delete Airware from the ix12 even though you get root permission from the Android system.

Finally got my setup and flying. Will get a few flights on my quad and foamies before flying anything important. So far it seems pretty nice

Great Radio!

We got four of them in the shop yesterday. Three are sold and the spare is getting poked on pretty good by me. I like it enough to maybe take it home and install it in a plane!
