Other mufflers and engines can be used. This layout is all we had to offer. Plus it looks super cool with the smoke rolling over the top of the wing.

Thanks!

Very cool. I would love to see more WW1 scale offerings I hope its a good seller. A 1/3 DR1 would be the ticket for me. An albatros.....even better. The super scale e-flite from a few years back but larger would be amazing. Love that plane.

i see at checkout hh is now charging sales tax to us here in ky.. adds about 49.00 more to it..i think i will just get on the notify list and see how it shakes out. i have been burned by being a first round buyer several times before there are always things to work out on the first batch...

A sopwith camel with the 7 cylinder radial would be nice...well if it was gas instead of glow.

Ali, based on your experience with the Evo 62, would you say that an older engine like a G38 or a Q40 would fly it? What was the weight situation with the Evo 62?

I am sure either engine will fly it. The prototype ( Which was much heavier than production models ) flew great with a Evo 33. No 3d capability, but plenty more power than the real one had.
The issue is nose weight. It needed a few pounds of ballast with the small light 33. So I decided to use a bigger engine to offset the weight. With the Evo 62 I needed almost zero nose weight ( Production models will be even less ) AUW of around 25 lbs with the Evo62.

Regards Ali

OK, thanks Ali! I'm in.

FYI, they've now made the Hangar 9 line available through Tower also. And while Horizon won't accept PayPal for backordered items, Tower will. (Don't understand that.) The bad news is that Tower now charges sales tax for out of state orders (they didn't use to).

Oh yeah, forgot that the further bad news is Tower coupon codes don't apply to Hangar 9 items.

I just attempted to order through Tower. Yes Tower will accept PayPal, but there was a discrepancy on the "Free Shipping" . According to the CS dept, it only applies to "in Stock" items. They had me cancel the order and wait until the item is in stock. A little frustrating but Ill hold off until Tower has them on hand.

Interesting. I was not contacted by Tower, and my order is still active in the "Invoiced, Awaiting Product From Manufacturer" status. And is still lists no shipping charges (but it does include $48 in sales tax).
