I think for the price you get a lot. The Aura, the good servos, the LED's - it's all good stuff. I am looking forward to trying the skis out when we get some snow, and the floats in the Spring. I did put a bend in my tailwheel wire to increase the shock-absorbing action. I also replaced the supplied wing bolts with 4-40 socket head cap bolts.

Did the winter weather ground all the 170's?

I flew in a snowstorm a few weeks back:
Flex Innovations Cessna On Skis In A Snow Storm (2 min 1 sec)

. I'm hoping to get out tomorrow (we've had quite a bit more snow than the first flight) but if the wind is blowing I may chicken out. The high is supposed to be 8 above, and well below with wind chill. So if the wind behaves I may have some video and a flight report tomorrow. I have installed the wing slats but not flown it with them yet.

Thanks DS for the fun video.

I have used a third rear ski before, it works great. I don't notice the weight of the snow buildup as much as I do changes in the angle of attack of the ski. I remember the first time I flew with them I didn't have the rear tethers adjusted right and they went almost 90 up. That was like flying a barn door.

Saturday I pulled the trigger on a C170 to get in on the free shipping. I ordered the slats and camera mount so I'll be interested in hearing your adventures with the slats.

I've already found the bolts and T-nuts in my parts bins to mod/fix the wing fasteners.

I'll probably change that tail wheel mount too. I don't like the ones that stress the rudder hinge and servo, especially on my larger planes.

I have a couple other mods in mind that I'll wait till I have pictures to reveal.
