When beginning the sequence you need to let the judges know you are about to begin so they know when to start judging. The audible signal that most use is “entering the Box”. The meaning is that the pilot has entered into the aerobatic airspace and judging begins when the pilot departs wings level horizontal flight.

What we do have is a score called ACS, or airspace control score. This is judges from 0-10 and is used to judge how well the pilot controls the position of each maneuver.

A typical weekend you will fly about 3 known rounds and one unknown round, for basic you would fly a known round instead of an unknown. Each round consists of two sequences.

Welcome to IMAC. You’ll have a blast.

A good idea is to look on the IMAC website, on the left side of the Home page... All the information regarding the sequences can be found there.
Regards & safe flying.

Also, over at the IMAC website is a Fantastic resource in the Online training found here
http://training.mini-iac.com/Default.html

And any one should check their regional calendars to locate a Flying and Judging school near them. Personally I think these are the most important weekends of the year for a competitor.

I’m exited to see all of the enthusiasm of new people wanting to try IMAC.

Wayne posted a link above to the IMAC web page. Ton’s of information over there.

When I first wanted to fly IMAC I was afraid of doing something wrong because it didn’t know all the rules. When I attended my first contest I told the CD that I was new and I was overwhelmed at the people that stepped up and helped me along the way.

IMAC is built around progressing your skill level as you move up in classes. In Basic you only have a few maneuvers to build your skill level, horizontal line with simple turnaround maneuvers at each end. As you move up in class new elements will challenge you and you will be come a better pilot. On top of this you will meet some of the nicest people and for friendships that go well beyond competing with scale airplanes.

Nice flying. The cameras auto-focus was making me nauseous though.
